Route and Briefing
Your African Holiday safari will begin in Uganda from the day you arrive in Africa to the 11th day, on the 11th day, interacting with gorillas and chimpanzees, then on the 12th day, you will proceed for your Kenya safari tour for about a week, exploring exclusive National reserves and parks, spotting wildlife, the Big Five, and the Great Migration. For the remaining 2-3 days, you will finalise your safari with Tanzania safari holidays and relax on the white, pristine sandy beaches in Zanzibar.
Day by Day
Arrival in Uganda
On this day, when you first arrive in Africa, your first tour will be the gorilla trekking in Uganda. Our representative will pick you up at Entebbe International Airport, and you will be taken to your hotel, where you will have dinner and rest after a long trip.
DAY 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park
On this day, your energy and excitement are at 100%. To set the mood, your first tour will be at Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest protected area, and home to more than 73 animal species. You will be able to spot the buffalo, leopards, lions, elephants, Rothschild giraffe, a healthy population of herbivores, and 451 bird species.
Did you know that Murchison Falls is the most powerful waterfall in the world?
After about 5 hours, you will arrive at Murchison National Park. You will go to the top of the Murchison Falls, where you will enjoy the views of the magnificent falls, where the Nile forces its way through the gorge in the rocks.
For a more exciting experience at the Murchison Falls, you can go for a boat cruise that takes about 2 hours as you enjoy spectacular views of different animals along the shores, such as buffaloes, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, and bushbucks.
After exploring the Murchison National Park, if you are happy and satisfied, you will be transferred back to your hotel at Paraa Safari Lodge, where you will have your dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 3: Morning Game Drive, Boat Cruise, Birding, Evening Game Drive at Murchison Falls National Park
After your early breakfast, you will proceed on a morning game drive in the Northern Nile Delta as you enjoy the sunrise. In this game drive, you will also engage in bird watching, where you will be able to spot different bird species in the riverine vegetation along the Nile and Albert Delta.
After the morning game drive, you will head back to your hotel at Paraa Safari Lodge for an early lunch.
Later, you will embark on a 3-hour boat cruise on the Nile.
The boat can take a maximum of 45 people, but you can also choose to go for a private one. The trip starts from Paara Jetty, then cruises eastwards along the African stretch of the Nile.
Note that visitors are always urged to be at the departure point at least 15 minutes before the boat cruise starts.
However, if you have to hike to the top of the falls, then back to the bottom, the boat will stop at Baker’s point, where you set off for the hike back to the starting point.
After the boat ride, you will go for the evening game drive to spot many other wild animals, maybe some of which you had missed during the morning game drive.
As darkness falls, you will be taken back to Paraa Safari Lodge for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

DAY 3: Travel to Kibale National Park/ Community Walk
On this day, early in the morning after your breakfast, you will check out at Paraa Safari Lodge and begin your journey to Kibale National Park, driving southwest through the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. In the afternoon, for lunch, you will either have it on your way or at Kyaninga Lodge.
On arrival at Kibale, you will drive to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a community walk and cultural interaction a very fascinating area located in the Magombe Swamp which has been recognized for an extensive array of biodiversity of several species of primates such as the colobus monkey, baboon, the black and white columbus monkey, blue monkey, grey cheeked mangabey, vervet monkey and many more.
In the evening, you will be dropped off at Primate Lodge Kibale near the Kibale National Park, where you will have dinner and rest as you prepare for the adventurous day ahead of you.

DAY 4: Chimpanzee Tracking
After your breakfast at 5:00 am, you will proceed to Kibale National Park, a haven with the largest concentration of chimpanzees of about 1500 chimpanzees.
The chimpanzee tracking will start immediately you arrive at Kibale National Park, which will take about 2 to 3 hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzees.
This is not a tedious activity, after the trek you will be taken to Primate Lodge Kibale to freshen up, have dinner and rest.

DAY 5: Visit Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves & Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day, you will visit the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves, located a few kilometres outside Fort Portal city in Kabarole District, in the rolling plains of western Uganda, offering a unique blend of culture, breathtaking scenery of nature, giving you a chance to explore its caves, the three nearby crater lakes, waterfalls and cultural significance.
Later in the day, you will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a very huge park where wildlife and humans coexist in harmony.
Later, you will check into Elephant’s Plains Lodge, have lunch and then head out for a boat ride along Kazinga Channel with some of the best wildlife viewing, such as squacco herons, pied kingfishers, buffalo, hippos, basking crocodiles and different bird species.
After the boat cruise, you will go for an evening game drive at Queen Elizabeth National Park, aiming to see the predators in action.
Afterwards, you will go back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 6: Ishasha Sector & Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Cultural Interaction
Early in the morning, after having your breakfast, you will be picked up and taken to the Ishasha sector located in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth to see the tree-climbing lions on Kasenyi Plains. These lions are often spotted hanging on tree branches of huge fig trees.
After spotting the tree-climbing lions, you will go for gorilla trekking in Uganda tours at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the famous mountain gorillas.
Later, you will embark on a community walk, where you will visit the Batwa community, an indigenous group of people who have lived in the forest for about 500,000 years. You will get to enjoy their music, traditional dances and even learn about their culture and how they have survived in the forest for all those years.
Later in the evening, you will be dropped off at Kiho Gorilla Safari Lodge for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

DAY 7: Gorilla Trekking Uganda Tours at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest & Travel to Lake Bunyonyi with 29 Islands
After your early morning, you will be picked up and head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest head offices with Ravina Tours representative, where you will be briefed about the do’s and don’ts while in the park when you spot the mountain gorillas, which are currently less than 1200 mountain gorillas left in the world, and half of its population resides at Bwindi. The gorilla trekking adventure will take about 2 hours to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gentle giants.
Note that, during the adventure, you carry enough water, comfortable closed shoes, non-flash cameras and rain jackets.
Therefore, at the end of the gorilla trekking adventure, you will return to the lodge for a well-deserved shower, have lunch and relax a bit before you go for the next adventure of the day at Lake Bunyonyi.
The lava-dammed Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in Africa, is a twisting water body dotted with 29 islands of various shapes and sizes, scattered across the water, including the infamous punishment island, historically where the unmarried pregnant girls were abandoned. Also, Lake Bunyonyi is often referred to as a hidden gem or the Switzerland of Africa.
As you admire the beauty of the lake, you can engage in thrilling activities like ziplining and swimming since there are no dangerous animals like hippos or crocodiles. Interestingly, Lake Bunyonyi is home to about 200 bird species, also making it a birdwatcher’s paradise.
After this amazing experience, you will go to Arcadia Lodge Bunyonyi for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 8: Relax, Zip Lining & Ninja Warrior
On this day, you will be given enough time to relax in the hotel until lunchtime.

Later, you will return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 9: Equator Stopover & Transfer to Kampala
After your breakfast, you will be picked up, and you will start your journey to Kampala. Before you get there, you will have a stopover at the equator in Masaka, where you will get to see the equator that divides planet Earth into two equal hemispheres.
Later, on arrival at Kampala, you will go for a city tour and be transferred to Kampala Serena Hotel, a luxury hotel in Kampala. Here you will have dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

DAY 10: Travel to the River Nile for Water Rafting & Discovering the Nile

DAY 12: Transfer to the Airport and Fly to Kenya
On this day, after your breakfast, you will check out of Wildwaters Lodge. Along the way, you will discover the source of the Nile and even go for a boat cruise along the Nile.
In the afternoon, you will have lunch at any restaurant in Jinja or Kampala, then you will be transferred to Entebbe Airport for your flight to Kenya.
Once you arrive in Kenya for your Kenya safari tour, around 9:00 pm, you will be received and welcomed by our Ravina Tours and Travels representative at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, handing you over a bouquet and a hoodie from Ravina Tours, and then you will be transferred to the Sarova Stanley hotel in Nairobi, where you will rest, have dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 13: Travelling to Lake Naivasha
Early in the morning, after your breakfast, you will check out at Sarova Stanley and leave for Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is one of the main attractions in Kenya, renowned for its spectacular views of flamingoes.
On arrival in Lake Naivasha, you will be dropped off at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge, where you will check in, and then, after lunch, you will get out for an evening boat ride, then afterwards return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 14: Travel to Lake Nakuru National Park ( Evening Game Drive)

On arrival at Hell’s Gate National Park, you can experience a walking or cycling safari, which takes about 2 hours.
Later, you will be taken to Lake Nakuru National Park for an evening game drive viewing a vast population of flamingoes and over 400 species of birds, a perfect destination for bird watchers.
When darkness falls, you will be transferred to Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 15: Morning Game Drive at Lake Nakuru National Park & Travel to Masai Mara National Reserve
After your breakfast, you will proceed for a morning game drive at Lake Nakuru, one of Kenya’s renowned soda lakes and a major attraction in Kenya due to its vast population of flamingoes on its alkaline shores.
After the morning game drive, your journey to the Masai Mara National Reserve will begin. For about 5 to 6 hours, you will be at the destination. Before you even check in, you will go for the local Masai village cultural tour and get to learn and interact with the local Masai people.
Later in the evening, you will be transferred to Muthu Keekorok Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 16: Optional Hot Air Balloon Safari & Full-Day Game Drive
After your breakfast at Muthu Keekorok Lodge, you will spend the whole day at the Masai Mara National Reserve spotting wildlife, hence you are advised to leave the lodge with a packed lunch, or instead you can consider having a bush lunch.
The Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the must-visit destinations in Kenya, popularly known for the annual Great Wildebeest Migration crossing the Mara River in search of water and pasture.
Another option to view this spectacular event in the world is the Hot air balloon experience, which costs around $485 per person, and can be organised early in the morning before sunrise, then proceed with the normal game drive for the rest of the day.
After the full-day game drive, you will return to Muthu Keekorok Lodge for dinner, rest and an overnight stay.

After the evening game drive which will signify the end of your Kenya safari holiday, you will be transferred to Serengenti Serena Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

However, remember to book it well in advance so that it can be organised for you.
