5 Day Budget Camping Safari in Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru National Park

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Pick up from your hotel for a journey south along the Great Rift Valley, lunch at Narok, and then climb the western wall entering Hemingway’s country “Serengeti Plains”. You will arrive in the afternoon for an evening game drive in Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Dinner and overnight are at the campsite.

Day 2: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

This is a full day to spend game viewing across the rich, tree-studded grassland, and rolling hills. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plain game, black-maned lions, leopard, and cheetah. It also contains numerous elephants and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. All meals and overnight are at the campsite.

Day 3: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After early morning breakfast, leave the camp for morning game drive until lunchtime and then return to the camp for lunch. The afternoon is optional for a nature walk or a visit to a nearby Maasai village and then return to the campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park

You will have a pre-breakfast game drive in the park and then return to the campsite for late breakfast. You will leave Maasai Mara for Lake Nakuru National Park with lunch served en-route, arriving in Nakuru for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park – Nairobi

After early morning breakfast, proceed for an extensive morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park known for its millions of flamingos and other water birds. Then, you will leave Nakuru after lunch for going back to Nairobi and arrive in the late afternoon.

Children aged 3-12 years pays 50% of adult rates when sharing same room with adults.
Children aged 3-12 years pays 75% of rates when staying on their own room separate from adults.
Children of 12 years and above are recognized as adults
