5 Day Central Highlands Safari in Kenya

Day 1: Arrival at Nairobi – Nyahururu

On arrival, depending on the time, you will be transferred to Nyahururu via Naivasha and Gil Gil Road. Nyahururu is home to Kenya’s second-longest waterfall, The Thomson Falls. There is also a small forest called Marmanet Forest, but inside, it is stuffed with over 200 elephants. This is a perfect place to have an elephant trekking. Today’s meal plan includes lunch and dinner.

Day 2: Nyeri

After breakfast, you will have your tour to Marmanet Forest. This is a confined breeding area for over 200 elephants. The journey itself is on foot. Hence, it is recommended that you wear some comfortable shoes. After activities at Nyahururu, you will be transferred to the next exciting destination, Nyeri.

You will check into your hotel by lunchtime as you wait to have your afternoon game drive. Aberdare National Park is a must-visit while here. There will be game drives in this land. You will then return back to the lodge for dinner overlooking the waterhole. Today’s meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 3: Aberdare National Park

On this day after breakfast, you will be transferred to Aberdare National Park. Here, you have the opportunity to enjoy the biggest mountain ranges in Kenya. Several major rivers have originated from these mountains and they are also the home to the longest waterfall, Zaina Falls. If time allows, you will be able to see all these. Today’s meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 4: Nanyuki

After enjoying the best of Nyeri and Nyahururu, you will be transferred to the next destination, which is the foot of Mount Kenya Nanyuki. This is the home of Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which contains the biggest number of rhinos in Kenya and a huge number of chimps.

Not to forget, it also has the best views of both mountains, which are Mount Kenya and Aberdare Ranges. It is simply perfect for a sundowner! You will also have a day and a night game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Today’s meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 5: Nanyuki – Departure from Nairobi

After breakfast, you will have a game drive where you will see the endangered northern white rhinos. There is also a wide variety of chimpanzees.
