8 Days Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti Lodge Safaris

Day 1

Meru slopes tours and safaris guide will pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and take you to their office in Arusha. As local Tanzanians, their guides know well the country and Arusha city, so you’ll be in good hands from when you arrive at the moment you leave.

  • Accommodation: Green Mountain lodge

Day 2 – Arusha Lake Manyara

After breakfast from Arusha, you will proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive with picnic lunches. Later you will proceed to Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Stretching for 50 kilometers along the base of the rusty-gold 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. The compact game-viewing circuit through Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience. From the entrance gate, the road winds through an expanse of lush jungle-like groundwater forest where hundreds of baboon troops lounge nonchalantly along the roadside, blue monkeys scamper nimbly between the ancient mahogany trees, dainty bush buck tread warily through the shadows, and out sized forest horn bills honk cacophonously in the high canopy.

Day 3 – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, proceed to Serengeti National Park for a game drive with picnic lunches and dinner and overnight will be at Seronera Wildlife Lodge. A million wildebeest, each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 mile) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north; replenishing the species in a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 kilometers (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.

Day 4 – Serengeti National Park

You will have early morning game drives in Serengeti National Park and return back for breakfast and after breakfast again you will proceed for a full day game drive with picnic lunches, dinner, and overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge. There is more to Serengeti than large mammals. Gaudy agama lizards and rock hyraxes scuffle around the surfaces of the park’s isolated granite koppies. A full 100 varieties of dung beetle have been recorded, as have 500-plus bird species, ranging from the oversized ostrich and bizarre secretary bird of the open grassland, to the black eagles that soar effortlessly above the Lobo Hills.

Day 5 – Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Later depart for Ngorongoro Crater Rim with picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest collapsed volcanic crater in the world and fourteen kilometers of isolated natural beauty. Ngorongoro Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and the floor, dotted with watering holes, shelters some 30,000 animals. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation. in Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge.

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater

Early risers are rewarded with breath-taking views of the rising sun over the crater’s edge and, after a hearty breakfast, you will drive down the adventurous track into the crater. This UNESCO world heritage site, one of the seven wonders of Africa and most incredible ecosystems on Earth, formed millions of years ago in the massive explosion of a volcano, is 610 m deep and covers roughly around 260 square kilometers. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25 000, the crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. In matter of minutes you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little bit of luck you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass.

After lunch you will ascend the steep walls of the crater and head to Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7 – Tarangire national park

After breakfast, proceed for a full day game drive at Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunches inside the park. It’s the national park which herds of up to 300 elephants scrape the waterless river bed for alternative streams, while nomadic wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland mass the decrease lagoons. It’s the most attentiveness of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem – a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly practical. The only national park that holds the migrant during the dry season and welcoming home of different species of animal.

After an extensive game drive through the park, you will head back to Arusha in Green Mountain Hotel.
