Lake Bogoria National Reserve is one of the Lakes found in Riftvalley sorrounded with thousands of hot springs and geysters.The Lake lies within the Ngendelel escarpments which is approximately 2000 meters high.
Lake Bogoria is being fed by river Weseges which originates from the Aberdares Highlands.The Lake Bogoria is one of the most beautiful Lake covered with cloud of Flamingoes,which makes it have a pink colour with amazing sky view.
Lying 1000-1600 m above sea level in the Rift Valley is a beautiful place that has the pink cloud of flamingoes and the geysers bubbling with the most spectacular hot water volcanic springs. It covers 107 sq km with 34 sq km being covered by water. The Lake Bogoria National Reserve is dominated by thorny bushland of acacia and the open shores of the lake dominated by grasslands while the sedge cyperus is around the hot springs.
The main attraction in Lake Bogoria are the pinky flamingoes that gives the Lake beautiful colors.The flamingoes normally comes from far and wide to feed on the algae,which gives the lake a different color.When you visit Lake Bogoria,you will most likely have to notice pink spots across the bluish-green water.
According to Statistics,Lake Bogoria has over 200 Hot springs and 17 geysters,of which most of them are still active.Normally,when you visit Lake Bogoria,it is likely to come across the locals selling eggs by the road side.This is one of the most fascinating things that you can deep your egg for around 5 minutes and it becomes ready to eat.
The Geysters have a finite lifetime since the gas is mostly use for the geothermal power for creation of electricity.

Important:The lake has three camping sites, all located on the southern side of the lake. The sites, however, do not offer any facilities, so be sure to carry your own.The Fig Tree Campsite is, by far, a people’s favorite. It might be because it is perfectly sheltered under the shade of fig trees or because the campsite nears a cool water stream that comes a long way into helping one beat the heavy day temperatures.
Whatever it might be, the campsite is a perfect destination for you. Other camping sites are the Acacia campsite and the Riverside campsite. You can also set camp at the Papyrus Inn Garden or the Loboi Gate.
