Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. From Nairobi, travel north through the fertile highlands of central Kenya, passing rural farms, forested hills, and small market towns before reaching the more arid landscapes of northern Kenya.
As you approach Samburu National Reserve, the scenery transforms into rugged hills, acacia woodlands, and open plains crossed by the Ewaso Nyiro River. This river is the lifeline of the region, attracting a wide range of wildlife throughout the year.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drives in Samburu
Wake up to the sounds of birds and wildlife along the riverbanks before enjoying a hearty breakfast at camp. Your morning game drive begins shortly after, taking you deep into Samburu’s striking semi-arid terrain.
Samburu is famous for its “Special Five” wildlife species that are rarely found elsewhere in Kenya. During the game drive, you may encounter Grevy’s zebras grazing on the plains, reticulated giraffes feeding from acacia trees, or the graceful gerenuk standing upright to reach leaves high above the ground.
Return to camp for lunch and some relaxation before heading out again for an afternoon game drive. As the golden evening light spreads across the landscape, predators such as lions and leopards become more active. Elephants can often be seen cooling off along the Ewaso Nyiro River.
