Details Itinerary

Your Mount Kilimanjaro adventure begins with arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This first day allows you to relax, recover from travel, and prepare for the climb ahead.

Your guide will provide a detailed briefing about the trek, including daily expectations, safety measures, and gear checks. This preparation ensures you are fully ready for the journey.

Enjoy a welcome dinner and overnight stay in Arusha.

Begin your trek with a drive to Machame Gate, followed by registration and entry into the park. The trail starts through dense rainforest, offering a cool and shaded environment with rich vegetation.

The path gradually ascends along a winding ridge, where conditions can be muddy and require steady footing. As you gain elevation, the forest begins to thin, revealing glimpses of the mountain.

Arrive at Machame Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Continue your climb as you leave the rainforest and enter the moorland zone. The trail becomes steeper, crossing valleys and ridges while offering expansive views of the surrounding landscape.

The route leads onto the Shira Plateau, one of the most scenic sections of the trek. From here, you can enjoy clear views of Kibo Peak and the open terrain.

Arrive at Shira Camp, relax, and overnight stay.

This day is crucial for acclimatization, involving a climb to higher altitude before descending again. The trail passes through a semi-desert landscape toward Lava Tower, a key landmark on the route.

After reaching the highest point of the day, descend to Barranco Camp, allowing your body to adjust effectively. The environment becomes more rugged, with dramatic scenery throughout.

Dinner and overnight stay at Barranco Camp.

Start the day with the ascent of the Barranco Wall, a rewarding climb that offers impressive views once at the top. The trail continues through valleys and ridges towards Karanga Camp.

This shorter trekking day is designed to conserve energy while continuing acclimatization. The alpine environment becomes more pronounced as you move higher.

Arrive at Karanga Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Continue your ascent towards Barafu Camp, the base for the summit attempt. The trail offers multiple viewpoints of the summit, providing motivation and perspective on the climb ahead.

The terrain is rocky and exposed, emphasizing the high-altitude environment. Upon arrival, you will rest, prepare your gear, and receive a briefing for the summit push.

Dinner and early overnight at Barafu Camp.

The summit attempt begins around midnight, with a steady ascent through steep scree under the stars. This is the most physically and mentally demanding part of the journey.

Reach Stella Point at the crater rim before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Standing at the summit is a remarkable achievement and the highlight of the entire trek.

After celebrating, descend to Barafu Camp briefly, then continue down to Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

On the final day, descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. The trail becomes greener and more humid, providing a refreshing contrast to the higher elevations.

Upon arrival, you will receive your summit certificate, marking the successful completion of your climb. This moment reflects the effort and determination invested throughout the journey.
