Day 1: Welcome to Central Kalahari Game Reserve
Your safari adventure begins with an early morning departure from Maun at approximately 07h00 as you travel toward the breathtaking Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The drive takes you deep into Botswana’s vast wilderness where open grasslands, ancient riverbeds, and endless desert landscapes create an unforgettable setting.
During the green season, particularly after the summer rains between September and January, the northern grasslands attract large concentrations of wildlife including springboks, gemsboks, wildebeests, hartebeests, giraffes, and elands. Even during drier periods, the reserve’s untouched beauty and sense of isolation create a remarkable safari experience unlike anywhere else in Africa.
Upon arrival in the famous Deception Valley area, your safari team will set up camp while you enjoy lunch and some time to relax. Later in the afternoon, head out on your first exciting sunset and evening game drive through the valley in search of wildlife and spectacular Kalahari scenery.
After sunset, return to camp where a hot shower awaits before gathering around the campfire for dinner under the stars. Your comfortable safari tent includes stretcher beds, a private veranda, and an en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet, shower, and sink for a comfortable wilderness experience.

Day 2: Sunday Pan & Passarge Valley Exploration
Wake early to the peaceful sounds of the Kalahari and enjoy coffee, tea, and traditional rusks before departing on a morning game drive toward the scenic Sunday Pan waterhole. This region of the reserve is known for its dramatic landscapes, predator sightings, and excellent birdlife.
Continue exploring the beautiful Passarge Valley where dense Acacia tortilis thickets provide shade for lions and cheetahs during the heat of the day. The Central Kalahari is also home to a wide variety of bird species including secretary birds, kori bustards, ostriches, white-backed vultures, and lappet-faced vultures.
As you journey through Leopard Pan and surrounding areas, your experienced guide will help you track wildlife while sharing fascinating insights into the ecosystem and behavior of the desert-adapted species that thrive here.
Return to camp for lunch and a relaxing afternoon siesta before heading out again for an afternoon game drive toward the stunning Deception Pan. Enjoy a spectacular African sunset over the open plains before returning to camp for dinner and another magical evening beneath the stars.

Day 3: Farewell to the Kalahari
Rise before dawn for your final safari activity in the Kalahari. After coffee, tea, and rusks, depart on an early morning game drive when predators are most active. This is an excellent opportunity to search for cheetahs, leopards, and the famous resident black-maned Kalahari lions whose territories stretch across the pans and valleys of the reserve.
Return to camp later in the morning for a warm shower and hearty breakfast before beginning your scenic drive back to Maun. Keep your camera ready along the journey as the reserve often provides unexpected wildlife sightings and memorable farewell moments.
Arrive back in Maun during the afternoon where you will be transferred to your hotel or continue onward to other incredible Botswana safari destinations such as the Okavango Delta or Moremi Game Reserve.
