Ashnil Aruba Lodge is situated on the banks of the Aruba River in the heart of Tsavo East National Park. Aruba Dam is a recreational point in the park for fishing. The watering spots nearby attract wildlife and animals as the park is near the flat Savannah grassland.

Accommodation and Facilities

Ashnil Aruba Lodge has 40 deluxe rooms, 8 interconnecting rooms, 6 luxury tents, and 4 triple rooms.  Each room is African-themed and includes a seating area, a closet, and a private bathroom with a bathtub, fan, safety box, shower, and complimentary toiletries.  Deluxe Twin features a twin room with two beds and the option to add a rollaway.  Deluxe Double rooms feature a king-sized bed, a hot water shower, a hair dryer, a terrace, and a sun bed.  This tent has a wooden terrace overlooking the Maasai Mara. The bed is provided with mosquito netting, and the private bathroom includes a shower and complimentary toiletries.  The deluxe triple room features three en-suite beds, a fan, a lounge area, and a safety deposit box.  The bed is draped in mosquito netting, and the private bathroom includes a shower and complimentary toiletries.  The amenities include a swimming pool, spa, non-smoking rooms, restaurant, disabled facilities, free WIFI, bar, breakfast, a location for holding parties and weddings, business services, and an airport shuttle.

Dining and Cuisine

Dining at Ashnil Aruba offers a combination of local and international cuisine. The camp’s main restaurant can accommodate 150 guests. The wooden deck, sheltered by canvas umbrellas, can serve as additional seating during mealtimes. Guests can enjoy breakfast on a volcanic rock that rises from the plains, offering a unique view.  Lodge offers buffet-style platforms, both warm and cold, in the center of the restaurant for convenient access by everybody.

Wildlife and Safari Experience

The Lodges provides its visitors with morning and evening game drives in the Tsavo East National Park, led by skilled guides.  The park is Kenya’s largest protected area.  It is home to the majority of the larger mammals, including vast herds of dust-red elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, smaller Kudus, gerenuks, and a diverse bird population with 500 known species.  Guests participate in game drives, where they are expected to observe the mentioned animals, as well as photographic sessions, where they photograph animals and magnificent landscapes.

Cultural and recreational activities

The lodge organises walking safaris led by a local naturalist, during which guests will encounter the Local Flora and Fauna. The cultural visits to nearby villages introduce the guests to their cultural traditions and customs, you learn their dances, songs, food they cook and their way of lives. Recreational activities include balloon safaris, a swimming pool and a spa for relaxation. The guests enjoy sundowners in the evening, as well as bush dinners, game drives, and bird-watching opportunities to observe the diverse wildlife in the area.

Sustainability and Conservation Measures

The Lodge implements Environmental measures by focusing on energy, waste and water management. The Lodge supports KWS in monitoring and reporting wildlife that are injured and has also planted over 500 trees. The Lodge conducts cleanups and raises environmental awareness within its premises. Waste management practices at the lodge include waste separation at the source through clearly labeled bins, treatment of grey water via grease traps and soak pits, and the use of septic tanks with bio-enzymes for black water managing. The lodge also utilizes solar energy and eco-friendly waste management practices.

How to get there

Asnil Aruba Lodge is approximately 3 hours from the coast of Mombasa and a  5-hour drive from Nairobi, covering a distance of 270 km, and is situated on the banks of Aruba Dam. By flight, it is an hour, followed by a transfer to the hotel, which takes a few minutes.
