Day 1: Journey into the Kalahari Grasslands
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your lodge or hotel after breakfast. Depart on a scenic drive toward the remote Kalahari grasslands, a vast wilderness region known for its rich cultural heritage and unique desert ecosystem.
The Kalahari is home to one of the oldest human populations in the world, making this journey not only a wildlife experience but also an important cultural encounter. During your visit, you will meet members of the San community and gain insight into their traditional lifestyle, history, and remarkable ability to survive in one of Africa’s most challenging environments.
Upon arrival at the lodge, enjoy lunch and some leisure time to relax while taking in the peaceful surroundings of the Kalahari. In the afternoon, head out for a short excursion where your guide will introduce you to the local environment, wildlife, and fascinating desert ecology.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner before gathering around the campfire to share stories and experiences beneath the star-filled African sky.

Day 2: Explore the Kalahari with the San People
Start your day with tea, coffee, juice, cereals, and fresh fruits before setting out on an authentic guided bush walk with the San people of the Kalahari. This cultural experience offers a rare opportunity to learn ancient survival skills passed down through generations.
During the walk, the San guides will demonstrate traditional animal tracking methods, explain the meaning of animal signs, and introduce you to different plants, trees, and shrubs used for medicinal purposes in the desert environment. Their extraordinary understanding of the ecosystem and wildlife behavior provides a fascinating insight into one of the world’s oldest surviving cultures.
After the excursion, return to the lodge for a full breakfast followed by wildlife spotting activities around the lodge with your guide. Depending on the season, you may encounter species such as kudus, antelopes, rhinos, and other desert-adapted animals.
Lunch will be served at the lodge before another afternoon cultural or nature excursion. In the evening, enjoy dinner followed by traditional San storytelling, songs, and dance performances around the fire — a memorable cultural experience that brings the spirit of the Kalahari to life.

Day 3: Return to Maun

Upon arrival in Maun, you will be transferred to your hotel or Maun International Airport for your onward travel arrangements, marking the end of your memorable Kalahari cultural safari.
