Day 1 – Transfer to Kruger National Park and Afternoon Safari Drive
Your Africa Safari Holiday begins with pickup in Johannesburg, where you’ll travel in a comfortable air-conditioned microbus accompanied by an experienced safari guide.
The journey heads east across the scenic Highveld farmlands before descending into the lush Lowveld region and the city of Mbombela, formerly known as Nelspruit.
After a lunch stop, you’ll enter the southern section of Kruger National Park for your first exciting game drive. This region’s lightly wooded bushveld provides excellent opportunities to spot giraffes, antelope, elephants, zebras, and other wildlife.
Before sunset, you’ll continue to Sabie River Bush Lodge for your overnight stay. Accommodation includes either a lodge room or luxury en-suite safari tent with air conditioning and modern comforts.
Relax on the deck overlooking the scenic Sabie River, where hippos and crocodiles are often seen in the water below. Dinner is served at the Gecko Lapa Restaurant, offering a delicious 3-course meal in a peaceful safari setting.
Day 2 – Full-Day Game Viewing in Southern Kruger Park
An early morning start provides the best opportunity to encounter wildlife during the cooler hours of the day. After a quick coffee, you’ll board an open safari vehicle and head into Kruger National Park for a sunrise game drive.
The fertile river systems and bushveld habitats of Southern Kruger are among the best locations in Africa for spotting the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. The scenic Sabie River also attracts abundant wildlife and birdlife throughout the year.
After several hours of game viewing, breakfast packs will be served at one of the park’s rest camps before continuing your safari adventure through different sections of the reserve. Around lunchtime, there will be time to relax, browse local curio shops, and enjoy refreshments before the afternoon safari drive.
In the evening, return to Sabie River Bush Lodge to relax beside the river while enjoying spectacular sunset views and wildlife sightings from the deck.
Dinner will be served at the lodge restaurant, concluding another exciting day on safari.
Day 3 – Transit Safari to Satara Camp in Central Kruger
After breakfast overlooking the river, your Africa Safari Holiday continues north toward Central Kruger Park.
Today’s transit safari drive focuses on searching for elusive predators, particularly leopards, which are frequently sighted in this region. As the landscape gradually changes into open grasslands near Tshokwane, wildlife sightings often include zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, buffalo, and large elephant herds.
Your guide will stop at popular waterholes and check wildlife sighting boards before continuing toward Satara Rest Camp, one of Kruger’s most famous safari camps renowned for excellent lion sightings.
After checking into your comfortable air-conditioned chalet, you’ll have time to explore the camp facilities including the swimming pool, deli café, restaurant, and shop.
Later in the afternoon, you’ll join a specialized sunset safari drive led by national parks rangers using spotlights to search for nocturnal wildlife such as hyenas, lions, leopards, and other predators.
Dinner will be enjoyed at the popular Cattle Baron Bistro before your overnight stay at Satara Camp.
Day 4 – Panorama Route and Blyde River Canyon
Your final morning safari begins before sunrise as you travel toward the exit gate of Kruger National Park while enjoying one last opportunity for wildlife sightings.
After breakfast at a country restaurant, the focus shifts from wildlife to scenery as you explore the spectacular Panorama Route, one of South Africa’s most scenic touring routes.
Highlights of the day include:
- Blyde River Canyon
- Three Rondavels
- God’s Window
- Scenic mountain passes and waterfalls
- Local craft and curio markets
After a day of sightseeing, you’ll descend Kowyn’s Pass to Hazyview and check into a comfortable 4-star hotel such as Hazyview Sun.
Dinner will be arranged by your guide while you relax and reflect on your safari experiences.
Day 5 – Leisurely Breakfast and Return to Johannesburg
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll begin the return journey to Johannesburg.
Traveling through the fertile Lowveld region, you’ll pass orchards, forests, and scenic countryside before climbing back onto the Highveld plateau. Arrival at O.R. Tambo International Airport or nearby hotels is expected around 16h00.
