Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi as you travel north through the scenic Kenyan highlands toward Samburu National Reserve.
Enjoy breathtaking views of changing landscapes ranging from fertile farmlands to the semi-arid wilderness of northern Kenya. Arrive at Samburu Simba Lodge in time for lunch and relaxation before heading out on your first exciting afternoon game drive.
Samburu is famous for the rare “Samburu Special Five” — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx — alongside elephants, lions, leopards, and numerous antelope species often found near the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drives in Samburu National Reserve
Spend the day exploring the rugged beauty of Samburu with extended morning and afternoon game drives.
The reserve’s dramatic landscapes of acacia woodlands, rocky outcrops, riverine forests, and open plains provide excellent wildlife viewing opportunities and stunning photography settings. Large elephant herds, lions, leopards, and numerous bird species are commonly sighted throughout the reserve.
The Ewaso Nyiro River attracts a wide range of wildlife, making it one of the best areas for game viewing in northern Kenya.
Return to Samburu Simba Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Samburu to Meru National Park
After breakfast, depart Samburu and journey toward the scenic wilderness of Meru National Park.
Travel through rolling hills, rural villages, and greener landscapes as you arrive at Meru National Park in time for lunch at Ikweta Safari Camp. Later, enjoy an afternoon game drive through this remote and less-crowded park known for its rivers, dense vegetation, and rich wildlife populations.
Meru is home to elephants, buffaloes, lions, giraffes, antelopes, and numerous bird species. The park is also famously associated with Elsa the lioness from the story Born Free.
Dinner and overnight stay at Ikweta Safari Camp.
Day 4: Full-Day Safari in Meru National Park
Enjoy a full day exploring the beauty and diversity of Meru National Park.
Morning and afternoon game drives take you through grasslands, riverine forests, swamps, and woodland habitats rich in wildlife. You may encounter elephants, cheetahs, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, and many antelope species while enjoying peaceful safari experiences away from crowded tourist routes.
The park’s rivers and wetlands attract numerous animals and colorful birdlife, offering fantastic opportunities for photography and wildlife observation.
Return to Ikweta Safari Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Meru National Park to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, continue your safari toward Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s leading wildlife conservancies and rhino sanctuaries.
Arrive at Maisha Sweetwaters Camp in time for lunch before heading out on an afternoon game drive across the conservancy’s open plains and woodlands.
Ol Pejeta is home to the Big Five and offers excellent opportunities to see black and white rhinos in protected habitats. You may also visit the famous Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the largest chimpanzee rescue center in Africa.
Dinner and overnight stay at Maisha Sweetwaters Camp.
Day 6: Ol Pejeta Conservancy to Nairobi
After breakfast, begin your scenic drive back to Nairobi through the beautiful landscapes of central Kenya.
Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon and transfer to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, marking the end of your unforgettable northern Kenya safari adventure.
