Day 1: Elephant Sanctuary Experience
Your professional guide or driver will meet you at Maun International Airport or your hotel before departing in a comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle toward the elephant sanctuary.
The drive to the sanctuary takes approximately 60 to 75 minutes and passes through the beautiful rural landscapes of Botswana where you may observe local villages and daily life along the way.
Upon arrival, begin your educational elephant experience with a guided introduction to the sanctuary and its conservation mission. You will learn about the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned and abandoned elephants and discover how the sanctuary works to protect elephants and preserve Botswana’s wild habitats.
Guests will spend time observing and interacting with the elephants while learning how each animal can be identified by its personality, physical features, and unique background story. Every elephant is given a traditional Setswana name, often reflecting the story of how it joined the herd.
This close-up experience offers incredible opportunities for photography, learning, and gaining a deeper appreciation for one of Africa’s most iconic animals while supporting ethical wildlife conservation efforts.
After the visit, you will be transferred back to Maun Airport or your accommodation.
