Details Itinerary

Upon your morning arrival at Kigali airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional guide and transferred to Kinigi, where you will check into your hotel. After lunch, enjoy a scenic drive to Musanze to explore the twin lakes — Burera and Ruhondo. Take a leisurely nature walk around the lakes, enjoy bird watching and fishing opportunities, then relax on a beautiful sundowner cruise on the water. As you sip cold drinks and enjoy snacks, be captivated by the stunning views of the surrounding volcanoes.

Accommodation: Sambora Kinigi Lodge

Rise early at 6:00 am for breakfast, then depart at 6:30 am for the Mount Bisoke hike. Arrive at the park headquarters by 7:00 am for a safety briefing about the trek. Afterward, drive to the trailhead and begin your approximately 6-hour round hike with experienced park guides and porters assisting you. Upon reaching the summit, marvel at the spectacular crater lake and panoramic views — a perfect spot for photos. After descending, meet your driver-guide for the return to the lodge, where you can rest and reflect on the day’s achievement.

Accommodation: Sambora Kinigi Lodge

Wake at 8:00 am and enjoy breakfast before departing at 9:00 am for the Ellen DeGeneres Dian Fossey Campus. Here, explore fascinating exhibits that highlight ongoing mountain gorilla conservation work. After the tour, cross the Chanika Border into Uganda and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a journey of 2 to 3 hours. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and relax in preparation for the gorilla trek the next day.

Accommodation: Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge

Rise early at 6:30 am for breakfast before heading to the park gate by 7:00 am. Your professional guide will assist with the registration process, followed by a briefing and allocation to your trekking group. Set off on a guided trek lasting between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family. Spend an unforgettable hour observing the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge to rest and absorb the experience.

Accommodation: Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge

Enjoy a final early breakfast at 6:00 am, then set off at 6:30 am for your transfer back to Kigali Airport, completing your adventure. Have a safe journey home!
