8-Day Kenya & Tanzania Combo Safari

Highlights

When it comes to unforgettable Kenya Tours and Safaris, nothing matches the thrill of combining Kenya’s world-renowned parks with Tanzania’s legendary reserves. This 8-Day Kenya–Tanzania Safari is a once-in-a-lifetime journey that takes you through the Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Amboseli National Park — four of the greatest safari destinations in Africa.

Kenya is celebrated as the birthplace of safari, with rolling savannahs, rich cultures, and extraordinary wildlife encounters. Tanzania complements it with vast wildernesses, dramatic landscapes, and the iconic Serengeti plains. Together, they form the ultimate African safari circuit, offering travelers not just animals but raw, immersive experiences that stir the soul.

Your adventure begins in the Masai Mara, Kenya’s most famous reserve, home to the Big Five and the stage for the Great Migration. Here, lions reign supreme, cheetahs chase gazelles, and elephants move gracefully across golden plains. The Mara has been voted the best safari destination in the world for years — and with good reason.

From there, you cross into Tanzania and head to the Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that stretches endlessly to the horizon. This is where herds of wildebeest and zebras migrate in their millions, closely followed by predators. It is also home to some of the most iconic safari scenes in Africa — cheetahs perched on termite mounds, leopards draped on acacia branches, and sunsets that take your breath away.

Next is the Ngorongoro Crater, often described as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” This ancient volcanic caldera is a natural sanctuary, home to an incredible density of wildlife. In just one day, you can see elephants, lions, zebras, flamingos, and perhaps even the rare black rhino. The views from the crater rim are nothing short of spectacular, making it one of Africa’s most photogenic safari destinations.

Returning to Kenya, the journey continues to Amboseli National Park, renowned as the “Land of Giants.” With more than 1,600 elephants, Amboseli offers some of the closest and most awe-inspiring encounters with these gentle giants. The backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain, makes Amboseli one of the most photographed parks in the world.

This 8-Day Kenya–Tanzania Safari is designed for those who want to go beyond a single park experience. It combines the thrill of game drives, the serenity of scenic landscapes, and the depth of cultural interactions. Guided by professional safari experts, traveling in comfortable 4×4 vehicles, and staying at carefully chosen lodges and camps, this tour strikes the balance between adventure and comfort.

Details Itinerary

At 8:00 am, your driver-guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel or city center. The journey begins with a drive through the Great Rift Valley, where you’ll stop at a scenic viewpoint to admire sweeping landscapes that stretch across the valley floor.

By midday, you’ll arrive at Mtito Safari Camp in the Masai Mara. After checking in and enjoying lunch, your adventure truly begins with an evening game drive at 4:00 pm.

The Mara is home to over 95 mammal species and more than 450 bird species. On your first drive, you may encounter prides of lions, cheetahs in action, elephants grazing, or giraffes silhouetted against the horizon. The golden light of dusk makes this one of the most magical times to be in the wild.

Return to camp for a buffet dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Mtito Safari Camp

After breakfast at 6:30 am, set out for a full-day game drive with picnic lunch in the Mara. Today is about immersing yourself in the sheer beauty and abundance of wildlife.

The Mara is particularly famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration, when over two million wildebeest and zebras cross the plains between July and October. Watching massive herds moving across the savannah, pursued by predators, is one of nature’s most dramatic spectacles.

Even outside migration season, the Mara is a wildlife haven. You’ll explore riverine forests, open plains, and rocky escarpments in search of lions, leopards, hyenas, buffalo, and countless antelope. Picnic lunch is enjoyed under the shade of a croton tree with sweeping views of the reserve.

Return to camp in the evening for dinner and rest.

After breakfast, depart with packed lunch for the drive to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. You’ll cross into Tanzania via the Sirare/Isebania border, where your Tanzanian guide will meet you.

Game viewing begins as soon as you enter the Serengeti. With its endless plains and vast horizons, the Serengeti feels like a world without limits. You’ll spot zebras, wildebeest, and perhaps predators on the move before reaching Serengeti Kati Kati Camp for dinner and overnight.

Spend the day on game drives in the Serengeti. Your guide will take you across the central Serengeti, known for its resident lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. The open plains also host elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and thousands of wildebeest.

The Serengeti is particularly famous for its predator-prey dynamics — scenes of cheetahs sprinting after gazelles or lions coordinating a hunt are common here. Sunsets in the Serengeti are legendary, painting the plains in shades of gold and crimson. Dinner and overnight at camp.

After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a stop at Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological sites. Here, you can learn about early human history before continuing to the Ngorongoro Crater.

Descend into the crater for a 6-hour safari. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to an extraordinary density of wildlife: elephants, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and even the rare black rhino. Lions are common, and flamingos often line the crater lake.

After your crater safari, head to Ngorongoro Farm House for dinner and overnight.
