Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu โ Into Northern Kenyaโs Wilderness
Your adventure begins at 7:00 am with pickup from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Along the way, admire breathtaking views of Mount Kenya, Africaโs second-highest mountain.
By midday, youโll arrive at Samburu Sopa Lodge, where a warm lunch awaits. After settling in, head out at 4:00 pm for your first afternoon game drive in Samburu. The reserve is famous for its dry landscapes, acacia woodlands, and the meandering Ewaso Nyiro River โ the lifeblood of this ecosystem.
On this drive, youโll encounter not just elephants, lions, and leopards, but also the Samburu Special Five โ species unique to northern Kenya. As the sun sets, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
