Details Itinerary

Begin your luxury adventure with a warm welcome in Kigali, Rwanda’s clean and vibrant capital. Your private guide will meet you at the airport and escort you on a scenic 4-hour drive to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. The rolling green hills and rural charm of Rwanda will unfold before you, offering beautiful vistas and cultural insights. Upon arrival, check into the luxurious One&Only Gorilla’s Nest Lodge, nestled in the foothills of the Virunga Mountains.

Accommodation: One&Only Gorilla’s Nest Lodge

Rise before dawn for your unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure. After a briefing at park headquarters, venture into the mist-shrouded rainforest in search of a mountain gorilla family. Spend a magical hour observing their daily lives — a humbling, emotional encounter. After returning from the trek, enjoy a gourmet lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure, basking in the luxury of your lodge.

Accommodation: One&Only Gorilla’s Nest Lodge

After breakfast, tour the Ellen DeGeneres Dian Fossey Campus, where you’ll learn about ongoing efforts to protect mountain gorillas. Later, cross into Uganda via the scenic Chanika border. The drive through terraced hills and lush rainforest leads to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you’ll check into the secluded Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, perched high with sweeping views of the forest canopy.

 Accommodation: Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge

Your second gorilla trek offers a new perspective as you hike Bwindi’s tangled jungle to observe another gorilla family. After this profound wildlife encounter, enjoy lunch and transfer to the peaceful shores of Lake Bunyonyi. Take in the serene lake views before a sunset boat ride — the perfect way to unwind.

Accommodation: BirdNest Resort

After breakfast by the lake, travel north to Queen Elizabeth National Park, descending into the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for an afternoon game drive across the Kasenyi plains, known for sightings of elephants, lions, and buffalo. Enjoy a stunning sunset over the savannah.

Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge

Start the day with an early morning game drive, followed by a relaxing boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, teeming with hippos, crocodiles, and a dazzling array of birds. Return for lunch and, later, embark on an optional evening game drive for more wildlife encounters under golden skies.

Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge

Depart for Kibale National Park, passing tea plantations and crater lakes. In the afternoon, join a guided chimpanzee trek in the tropical forest, home to 13 primate species. Watch chimp families play, feed, and swing through the treetops — a thrilling, energetic contrast to the gentle gorillas.

 Accommodation: Chimpundu Lodge

Today is a full scenic drive north to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest protected area. Travel through remote countryside and arrive to witness the mighty Murchison Falls, where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge in a spectacular roar. Check into your elegant lodge near the river.

 Accommodation: Paraa Safari Lodge

Rise for a morning game drive across Murchison’s vast savannah plains. Spot lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and elephants as you roam with your expert guide. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on the Nile Delta, watching crocodiles bask, birds flutter, and hippos wallow in the warm waters. A final evening game drive offers one more chance to catch predators in action.

Accommodation: Paraa Safari Lodge

Your safari concludes with a unique on-foot rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Walk alongside conservationists and observe these powerful animals in a protected setting.
