Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be picked up and driven to Musanze. Depending on arrival time, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial either today or on your last day. Dinner and overnight at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, head to RDB’s Office for registration and briefing. Embark on your mountain gorilla trekking adventure with an experienced guide. Return to the hotel for lunch, then visit twin Lakes Burera and Ruhondo in Musanze. Overnight at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking and Cultural Visit
Morning golden monkey tracking after registration and briefing. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, explore Ibyiwacu Cultural activities or visit the Dian Fossey Foundation. Dinner and overnight at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.
Day 4: Transfer to Nairobi, Kenya – Giraffe Manor
After breakfast, transfer to Kigali International Airport for your flight to Nairobi (flight not included). Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, transfer to Giraffe Manor for check-in. Enjoy exclusive interactions with endangered Rothschild giraffes and relax on the property. Overnight at Giraffe Manor.
Day 5: Relaxation at Giraffe Manor
Spend a leisurely day at Giraffe Manor in Karen suburb. Meet and feed Rothschild giraffes and enjoy optional excursions with a vehicle and driver at your disposal. Overnight at Giraffe Manor.
Day 6: Transfer to Sweetwater’s Game Sanctuary
Check out after breakfast and travel to Sweetwater’s in Ol Pejeta Ranch, a rhino sanctuary and chimpanzee refuge managed by the Jane Goodall Institute. The camp overlooks a busy waterhole with amazing wildlife views. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Serena Camp.
Day 7: Game Drives at Sweetwater’s
Two extensive game drives explore the conservancy’s plains, spotting animals including cheetahs, black-maned lions, black rhinos, ostriches, zebras, and hartebeest. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Lake Nakuru National Park – Sarova Lion Hill Lodge
Travel through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru, famous for its flamingo flocks. Stop at Nyahururu town to see Thomson Falls. Afternoon game drive at Nakuru to spot rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and leopards. Overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge.
Day 9: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara via Narok Township. The reserve is famous for the Great Migration and the Big Five. Enjoy an afternoon game drive upon arrival. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara Game Camp.
Day 10: Full Day in Masai Mara
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in one of the world’s greatest wilderness areas, spotting giraffes, elands, topis, impalas, zebras, gazelles, lions, elephants, and more. Optional hot-air balloon rides or Lake Victoria fishing trips available (additional cost). Evening bush sundowner followed by dinner. Overnight at Sarova Mara Game Camp.
Day 11: Sunrise Game Drive and Return to Nairobi
Early morning sunrise game drive followed by a full English breakfast. Check out and drive back to Nairobi. Spend your day at leisure in a dayroom hotel for last-minute shopping or sightseeing. Evening transfer to the airport to conclude your safari.
