Details Itinerary

Your adventure begins in Kenyaโ€™s capital city, Nairobi. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. After a pre-departure briefing, enjoy a restful evening preparing for your thrilling safari ahead. Nairobi is the gateway to East Africa, and this marks the start of your Uganda Safari Package journey.

Accommodation: Limpopo Hotel and Suites

After breakfast, depart Nairobi for the world-famous Maasai Mara. Drive through the Great Rift Valley and the bustling town of Narok before entering the rolling savannah of the Mara. The Maasai people, adorned in their traditional red shukas, live harmoniously with wildlife in this vast ecosystem. Enjoy your first afternoon game drive, spotting elephants, lions, and giraffes in the wild.

Accommodation: Giraffe Hills Mara Camp

Spend the entire day exploring the Maasai Mara. You may choose an optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise for a birdโ€™s-eye view of wildlife roaming below, followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush. Otherwise, enjoy extensive game drives in search of the Big Five and the seasonal Great Migration. The Mara is one of the highlights of every East Africa and Uganda Safari Package, making it unforgettable.

Accommodation: Giraffe Hills Mara Camp

Leave Maasai Mara after breakfast and drive to Lake Nakuru. Stop at scenic viewpoints along the Rift Valley escarpment before arriving in Nakuru town. Afternoon game drives will showcase rhinos, tree-climbing lions, and a myriad of flamingoes that paint the lake pink. Lake Nakuru is a birdwatcherโ€™s paradise with over 425 species recorded.

Accommodation: Buraha Zenoni Hotel and Resort

Cross into Uganda via the Malaba border as your Uganda Safari Package continues. Arrive in Jinja, the adventure capital of East Africa and the source of the mighty River Nile. Here you can witness the start of the Nileโ€™s journey across Africa and take part in optional adrenaline activities such as white-water rafting or bungee jumping.

Accommodation: Hotel Paradise on the Nile

Travel through Ugandaโ€™s lush highlands to Kabale, reaching Lake Bunyonyi, Africaโ€™s deepest crater lake. Surrounded by terraced hills, this serene lake is known as the โ€œPlace of Little Birds.โ€ Its tranquil setting offers the perfect spot to relax before the gorilla trekking adventure.

Accommodation: Travellers Rest Hotel

Today is the highlight of your Uganda Safari Package โ€“ gorilla trekking. Set out early with professional rangers to track one of the worldโ€™s last remaining families of mountain gorillas. Hiking through misty forests and rugged terrain makes this experience both challenging and rewarding. Coming face-to-face with a gorilla family is a truly life-changing moment.

Accommodation: Travellers Rest Hotel

After breakfast, visit the Batwa community, Ugandaโ€™s indigenous forest people. Learn about their traditions, music, and dances, or enjoy canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi. In the afternoon, you may also visit a local orphanage to interact with the children. These authentic cultural encounters make your safari more meaningful.

Accommodation: Travellers Rest Hotel

Travel back through Uganda, stopping in Kampala for lunch before continuing to Jinja. Revisit the River Nile for a chance at another adrenaline-pumping water activity, such as kayaking or rafting. This part of your Uganda Safari Package blends adventure with cultural discovery.

Cross back into Kenya and drive towards Lake Naivasha. This freshwater lake is famous for its hippo pods, birdlife, and lush surroundings. Spend the evening at leisure by the lakeside, where optional boat rides can be arranged.

Accommodation: Naivasha West Beach Camp

Take a guided walk in Crescent Island Sanctuary, home to giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and abundant birdlife. Unlike other parks, walking safaris here allow you to get up close to wildlife in a safe environment. The island is a hidden gem of Kenya, adding diversity to your safari.
