Day 1: Kigali Genocide Memorial and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Your journey begins with an early morning pick-up from your Kigali hotel by our professional driver-guide. After a warm introduction and tour briefing, you’ll visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a deeply moving tribute to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. As you explore the exhibits and peaceful gardens, you’ll gain insight into Rwanda’s tragic history and its path toward healing and unity.
Following your visit, enjoy a scenic drive north to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. Along the way, marvel at Rwanda’s iconic rolling hills and terraced landscapes. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge, enjoy dinner, and rest for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trek, Dian Fossey Campus Tour, and Transfer to Bwindi
After an early breakfast, venture into Volcanoes National Park for a Golden Monkey Trek. These rare and energetic primates are native to the Virunga Mountains and are known for their lively behavior and large social groups. It’s a fascinating experience and perfect for wildlife photography.
After the trek, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, where you’ll engage with interactive exhibits detailing Dian Fossey’s groundbreaking conservation work. Her legacy continues to shape gorilla protection efforts across the region.
Later in the day, cross into Uganda and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, one of the most biologically diverse forests in Africa and home to nearly half the world’s mountain gorillas. Arrive in the evening, settle in, and enjoy a relaxing dinner.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Rise early for your gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi. After a briefing from park rangers, you’ll head into the dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek may be challenging, but encountering gorillas in their natural habitat is a powerful and emotional moment you’ll never forget. You’ll spend up to one hour observing them as they feed, interact, and move through the forest.
Afterward, enjoy your packed lunch and begin the scenic journey to Lake Bunyonyi, a tranquil lake surrounded by lush hills and dotted with 29 small islands. On arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy a peaceful sunset boat cruise — the perfect way to reflect on your incredible day.

Day 4: Return to Kigali
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at 7:30 am before checking out at 8:00 am. Begin your 3 to 4-hour drive back to Kigali, where your driver will drop you off at your hotel or the airport. As your adventure comes to an end, you’ll leave with unforgettable memories of gorillas, golden monkeys, serene lakes, and the spirit of East Africa.
