4-Day Rwanda & Uganda Budget Adventure

This 4-day tour is perfect for travelers on a budget who want to see mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. You’ll visit Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. The tour starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda. To visit both countries, you’ll need an East African Tourist Visa ($100), which you can get on arrival at Kigali Airport.

Day 1: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali in a 4×4 safari vehicle. You’ll visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial before leaving the city. Then, drive for about 2.5 hours through Rwanda’s beautiful hills to Volcanoes National Park.

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trek & Transfer to Uganda

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a golden monkey trekking briefing. Hike into the forest to see a group of golden monkeys—you’ll spend up to one hour with them. After the trek, drive to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for your overnight stay.

Day 4: Return to KigaliDay 3: Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Start the day early with breakfast, then go to the ranger station for a briefing on how to behave around gorillas. You’ll hike into the forest with a ranger to track a gorilla family. Once found, you’ll spend one hour observing them up close. After the trek, head to Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxing evening.

Day 4: Return to Kigali

After a relaxed breakfast at the lake, you’ll drive back to Kigali. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport depending on your travel plans.
