Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast in Kampala, you’ll begin a scenic journey to Kibale National Park, driving through the lush vegetation and papyrus swamps of the Nile Delta, with the majestic Rwenzori Mountains as your backdrop. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a guided nature walk through the crater lakes region, offering both scenic views and cultural interactions with the local communities. This area also hosts rare bird species and provides a soft introduction to Uganda’s biodiversity. Accommodation: Kibale Forest Camp (Safari Tent)
Day 2: Chimp Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, you’ll head to Kibale Park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on a chimpanzee trekking adventure. During the forest walk, you’ll not only observe chimpanzees but also spot a variety of other primates, including red-tailed monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. After this enriching encounter, you’ll drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, home to large populations of hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, elephants, and over 600 bird species.

Day 3: Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Begin your day early with a morning game drive through the Kasenyi Plains and Queen’s Mile, where you’re likely to see lions, elephants, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, and more. After the game drive, you’ll journey south through the Ishasha sector, famous for its elusive tree-climbing lions. If time permits, enjoy a short game drive in Ishasha before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest—home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing. Join rangers and expert guides as you hike through the dense forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Once found, you’ll have a magical hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat. Expect to see other forest wildlife and birds along the way. Don’t forget to bring a rain jacket, snacks, enough drinking water, and your packed lunch. After the trek, return to your lodge to relax and reflect on one of the most profound wildlife encounters on Earth.

Day 5: Return to Entebbe via Igongo Cultural Centre and Equator
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Entebbe. Enjoy a lunch stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara, where you can learn about the Ankole and Bahima cultures. You’ll also make a photo stop at the Equator for souvenirs and a memorable moment straddling the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your onward flight.
