Your Kenya Safari Tour begins with a morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel before meeting the rest of the group and setting off toward the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The journey takes you through Kenya’s changing landscapes, with a scenic stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint where you can admire the dramatic escarpment and surrounding countryside.
Continue toward Narok town, where you will stop for lunch and have an opportunity to refuel before proceeding toward the Mara. As you leave Narok behind, the scenery gradually changes into open grasslands and rolling countryside characteristic of the greater Mara ecosystem.
Upon arrival, check in at Enkorok Mara Camp, a comfortable mid-range tented camp located just outside the reserve. After settling in and taking a short rest, prepare for your first afternoon game drive.
Travel through the reserve in a pop-up-roof 4×4 vehicle with your driver-guide, searching for the diverse wildlife that inhabits the Mara. You may encounter elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, and numerous bird species. The open savannah provides excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography, particularly as the afternoon light begins to soften.
After the game drive, return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay, with the sounds of the African wilderness surrounding your accommodation.
Main Destination: Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, spend a full day exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve on an extended wildlife-viewing adventure. The reserve is characterized by expansive savannah grasslands, rolling hills, riverine areas, and diverse habitats that support a remarkable variety of wildlife.
Your driver-guide will take you along different tracks in search of wildlife and will help you understand the animals, landscapes, and ecosystems you encounter. Look out for large herds of zebras and wildebeest grazing across the plains, giraffes browsing on vegetation, elephants moving through the grasslands, and predators such as lions and cheetahs.
During the day, stop for a picnic lunch in the reserve, allowing you to enjoy your meal while surrounded by the natural environment. Depending on the location of your game drive, you may visit an area around the Mara River or a hippo pool, where hippos and crocodiles can sometimes be observed.
Continue exploring the reserve throughout the afternoon, taking advantage of the changing light and wildlife activity. Toward the end of the afternoon, leave the reserve and return to Enkorok Mara Camp for dinner and another peaceful night.
An optional visit to a Maasai village can be arranged in the late afternoon at an additional cost, providing an opportunity to learn about local traditions, homes, crafts, music, and cultural practices.
