Details Itinerary

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to Hotel des Mille Collines, famously depicted in Hotel Rwanda. Relax and enjoy the city view, modern amenities, and the historic charm of this renowned hotel.

After breakfast, begin your journey with a guided city tour including the Kigali Genocide Memorial and King’s Palace. Then, you’ll head east to Akagera National Park, a scenic park bordering Tanzania, known for its lakes, savannah, and restored wildlife. Arrive in time for a sunset boat cruise on Lake Ihema, spotting hippos and crocodiles.

Start your day with a game drive through Akagera to spot lions, giraffes, elephants, and more. After the drive, head northwest to Volcanoes National Park, a picturesque journey through Rwanda’s lush countryside. Wake up early for an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in the misty mountains of Rwanda. After a briefing, you’ll hike with rangers to meet a gorilla family and spend one magical hour observing them. Return to the lodge to rest and reflect.

After breakfast, head out again to track golden monkeys, an endangered species found only in this region. After your trek, you’ll depart Rwanda and cross into Uganda, heading toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half the world’s mountain gorillas.

Today, you’ll embark on your second gorilla trek, this time in Uganda. Every gorilla family is different, so this will be a fresh and unique experience. After the trek, enjoy a cultural visit to the Batwa community, learning about their forest-based traditions.

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kigali, where your journey ends. You can be dropped off at your hotel or directly at the airport for your onward flight. This marks the end of an enriching cross-country safari experience.
