Day 2: Rongai Gate to 1st Caves Camp
Begin your Mount Kilimanjaro climb with a drive to Rongai Gate, followed by registration and final preparations. As part of your Tanzania Tours adventure, you will then proceed to the trailhead where your trek begins through farmland and forest.
The trail offers a gentle and gradual ascent, making it one of the easier starts compared to other routes. You will pass through pine forest and open areas while enjoying the peaceful surroundings and minimal crowds.
Arrive at 1st Caves Camp where your tents will be prepared. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: 1st Caves Camp to Kikelewa Camp
Continue your Mount Kilimanjaro ascent as the landscape changes into moorland. This section of the Tanzania Tours route offers wide-open views and a steady climb through scenic terrain.
You will pass the Second Cave, a perfect rest point before continuing towards Kikelewa Camp. The environment becomes more exposed, and temperatures begin to drop as altitude increases.

Day 4: Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp

This is the most challenging and rewarding day of your Mount Kilimanjaro climb. Around midnight, begin your ascent towards Uhuru Peak under the stars, navigating steep and rocky terrain.
Reach Gillman’s Point on the crater rim before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. This achievement is the highlight of your Tanzania Tours experience, offering unforgettable views and a sense of accomplishment.
After celebrating at the summit, descend to Kibo Hut for rest and continue to Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
On the final day of your Mount Kilimanjaro adventure, descend through moorland and rainforest back to Marangu Gate. This section of the Tanzania Tours journey allows you to reflect on your climb while enjoying the changing landscapes.
Upon arrival at the gate, you will receive your summit certificate, marking the successful completion of your trek. Your team will celebrate with you before departure.
Transfer back to Arusha or Moshi, or proceed to the airport. End of trek.
