Karen Blixen, is a tented camp located in the private Conservancy northern part of Mara Reserve in the banks of Mara River. It offers beautiful and perfect views of Animals gathering around to drink the water. It offers Luxurious blend of stay. If you are a nature lover and looking for a place you can relax and unwind, then Karen Blixen is the place to be. Being in the middle of the forest, trees around you and beautiful sound of the River. Imagine finding Gazelles, Zebras and Elephants Infront of you. The Camp portrays 22 Luxury tents that are elevated to deliver perfect views of the environments. Accommodation
The camp has 22 Canvas Tented camps with beautiful and comfortable furniture. It is elevated in a beautiful wooded platform. All the tents have en suite bathrooms. Kare Blixen heats up their water by solar panels. Tents can be divided to either twins, triple or even a Family unit. The camp offers extra beds to accommodate families.
Due to the elevation of the tents, one is promised a beautiful view of the Oloololo escarpments.
- Veranda: verandas are beautifully decorated with a cushioned daybed that allows proper relaxation and perfect views of the surroundings around.
- An Outdoor Shower: This is what peace of mind really is. Taking a private shower by yourself in the middle of the jungle, listening to the birds that chirp melodiously in your ears.
You can ask for a disabled room on request. They have 3 Rooms that accommodate people with disabilities. Also provide wheelchair to help their disabled clients move freely in the camp.
Dining
Meals at Karen Blixen are always on full board. Tea or coffee is served in the morning with pastries. For lunch, you may enjoy a Kenyan cuisine of beef stew and chapati or alternate. And dinner, the camp often prepares sea food.
For vegetarians, meals are always given on request.
Bush Breakfast: They offer bush breakfast. After enjoying your game drive, you can enjoy you breakfast in the middle of reserve with freshly made by the chefs.
Picnic Lunch: If you are going for a full game drive, then no need to worry since your guide will lead to a nice place with nice breeze and enjoy your lunch.
Bush Dinner: If you are searching on a way you can enjoy with your partner then Blixen is the right choice. Get to enjoy a bush dinner, gazing at the stars, with camp fire and a well decorated and set table just for you and your partner.To make it even more lively, you will experience a night game drive as you en route back to the camp.
Sun Downer: Sun downing is one thing that you won’t want to miss. Relaxing as you see the sun setting having a cocktail or a drink of your choice on your hand. There is nothing enchanting as that.

Game Drives: With limited number of vehicles due to sustainability, game drives can be enjoyed in the Mara Conservancy. You get a chance to enjoy the game drives since the camp offers private game drives only.
Nature Walk: Mara Conservancy is known to be home of Different species of birds. With a guide, you can carry out guided walks while you get to enjoy the beautiful Flora and Fauna. Note down the different species of birds that you will come across.
Game Walk: With this, you will experience a total difference since you get to feel the heat, enjoy walking in bushy and across open savannah. You get to feel and enjoy the pure breath of the environment.
Night Game drive: After enjoying your dinner, head back to the camp with a small night game drive This offers you opportunity to see more animals. As we know most animals are active at night you might even spot a hunt.
Balloon Safari: One can opt to enjoy a very early morning balloon Safari or Late Evening. Enjoy the aerial view of the camp. Get to take pictures while you are up high of the Masai Mara Conservancy.
Bird Watching: Birdwatching can be enjoyed in the camp as you take a walk around. Challenge yourself and record as many birds as possible.
Shop: Karen Blixen offers a curio shop where you can purchase artefacts that will add a glam in your body. Or you can opt to go for decors and carry them back home with you for memories. You might use them to decorate your hoses as well.
Masai Culture: One can visit a maasai home and get to learn their culture. Visit their houses and see where they live. Dance with them. Listen to their stories and get to learn on how the came to existence and how they are surviving.
