Days 1โ2: Explore the Remote Kalahari
Your journey begins with your arrival at Maun Airport in Botswana, where youโll board a shared charter flight to Leroo La Tau Lodge, perched on the edge of the vast Makgadikgadi Pans. Overlooking the Boteti River, this remote lodge offers excellent wildlife viewing, especially between November and May when massive herds of zebra and wildebeest migrate through, followed closely by predators. Enjoy game drives, guided walks, bird watching, and spot-lit night safaris, all while soaking up the untamed beauty of the Kalahari.
Days 3โ4: Okavango Delta Water Safari
From Leroo La Tau, take a charter flight into the northern Okavango Delta, arriving at Xugana Island Lodge. This exclusive water-based camp sits under towering trees on a private island, offering mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions, island walks, and boat safaris through lush lagoons and clear channels. Wildlife abounds, from rare birds to hippos and crocodiles, and evenings are spent enjoying star-lit dinners and fireside chats.
Days 5โ6: Into the Wild Savute
A short flight takes you to Savute Safari Lodge, set beside the famous Savute Channel in Chobe National Park. This region is legendary for its predator activity, especially lions, hyenas, leopards, wild dogs, and cheetahs. You’ll stay in chalets with private decks overlooking the channel and enjoy morning and afternoon game drives through the plains, hills, and riverine forest. This area promises a raw and intense wildlife experience.
Days 7โ8: Chobe River Safari
From Savute, fly north to Kasane Airport for a drive into the heart of Chobe National Park, checking into the elegant Chobe Game Lodge. Located right on the Chobe River, it offers game drives, river safaris, sunset cruises, and specialist birding tours. This area is especially thrilling during the dry season when thousands of elephants, buffalo, and lion pride gather at the riverbanks.
Day 9: Victoria Falls Adventure
Depart Botswana by road, crossing into Zimbabwe and arriving in Victoria Falls by midday. Youโll check into the well-loved Ilala Lodge Hotel, just a short walk from the falls themselves and the town’s vibrant markets, cafes, and adventure activity operators. Use your free time to explore Victoria Falls, take a scenic helicopter ride, go white-water rafting, or even bungee jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge โ the options are thrilling and varied.
Day 10: Farewell Africa
After a relaxed breakfast at Ilala Lodge, you’ll have a little time for last-minute souvenir shopping before being transferred to Victoria Falls International Airport for your onward flight, bringing this unforgettable safari to a close.
