Day 1: Dian Fossey Campus Tour and Transfer to Bwindi
Your day begins with a morning pickup from Kigali, Rwanda’s capital. Visit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund Campus in Musanze, where interactive exhibits provide insight into Dian Fossey’s life, groundbreaking research, and the current conservation work her legacy inspires. After this meaningful experience, embark on a scenic drive crossing the Rwanda-Uganda border toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Enjoy expert commentary and stops along the way as you admire the rolling hills and terraced farmland. In the evening, arrive at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge, your luxury base on the edge of the forest, where you’ll prepare for the gorilla trek the next day.
Day 2: Gorilla Trek and Transfer Back to Kigali
Rise early for a briefing before heading into Bwindi’s dense jungle in search of a gorilla family. Guided by expert trackers, the trek through the misty forest is an exciting adventure filled with the sights and sounds of the wilderness. Spending up to one hour with the gorillas, observe their social behaviors and interactions at close range—a humbling and magical experience. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and check-out, then begin your scenic drive back to Kigali. Arrive in the evening with lasting memories of this deeply moving encounter and a unique blend of nature and culture.
