Details Itinerary

Your journey begins at 7:00 AM, when our professional guide picks you up from your hotel or residence in Kigali. As we make our way toward Uganda, we’ll enjoy scenic views and stopovers for rest and refreshments. The first major stop will be the Ellen DeGeneres Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund Campus in Musanze, Rwanda. Here, you’ll gain insights into groundbreaking conservation efforts and gorilla research.

After a delightful lunch at Migano Café, we’ll continue to the Chanika border, where your guide will assist with border formalities. Once inside Uganda, we’ll drive through picturesque rural landscapes en route to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at a cozy, budget-friendly lodge. Dinner will be served, followed by a pre-trek briefing from your guide on what to expect during the next day’s gorilla trek.

 Accommodation: Karungi Camp

The day starts early with a 5:00 AM wake-up call. After a quick breakfast at 5:15 AM, you’ll check out of your room and proceed to the park gate. Our guide will assist with documentation while you enjoy live traditional entertainment at the briefing point.

Rangers from the Uganda Wildlife Authority will conduct a detailed orientation, covering safety, gorilla behavior, and trekking etiquette. You will then be assigned to a trekking group and set off into the dense rainforest for a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla encounter. The trek can last 3 to 4 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements.

Once you meet the gorillas, you’ll spend a magical hour observing their natural behavior. After returning from the trek, you’ll receive a certificate of participation. We’ll then begin our return journey to Kigali, where your guide will drop you off at your hotel or preferred location. End of tour.
