Day 2–3: Samburu National Reserve – The Land of the Special Five
After breakfast, you’ll journey north through dramatic landscapes to Samburu National Reserve, a six-hour drive that offers a glimpse into Kenya’s rural countryside and the equator crossing. Samburu is an arid but stunning region, defined by the Ewaso Nyiro River which provides life to its ecosystems.
Over the next two days, immerse yourself in Samburu’s raw beauty. Morning and afternoon game drives reveal the Samburu Special Five: the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. These species are unique to northern Kenya, making Samburu a must-see for wildlife enthusiasts.
But Samburu is not just about rarity. Elephants are abundant, often seen splashing in the river, while lions and leopards patrol the rocky outcrops. Day 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Rhino Sanctuary & Chimpanzees
Today, travel south to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of East Africa’s leading conservation hubs. This private conservancy is home to the last two northern white rhinos on Earth, offering you the once-in-a-lifetime chance to see these majestic creatures.
After lunch at your luxury camp, embark on a game drive across the conservancy’s plains, where you can spot lions, elephants, zebras, and more. A highlight of the day will be a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see rescued chimps. Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park – Flamingos & Rhino Haven
Leaving Ol Pejeta, you’ll descend into the Rift Valley, with views of Mount Longonot and the surrounding escarpments. Stop for a scenic lunch at Mai Mahiu before continuing to Lake Nakuru National Park, famed for its birdlife and rhino sanctuary.
An afternoon game drive introduces you to this compact but wildlife-rich park. Expect to see both black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, zebras, and, of course, the famous flamingos that gather along the lake’s shores. Leopards are often spotted here, lounging in the trees. As the sun sets, return to your lodge for dinner and a night of rest.

Day 6–8: Masai Mara National Reserve – The Heart of the Safari World
