Details Itinerary

The tour starts at 7:00 AM with a hotel pickup in Kigali. You’ll visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial and explore the colorful Kimironko Market. After lunch in Kigali (at your own expense), you’ll travel 2–3 hours to Lake Burera. On arrival, enjoy a peaceful boat ride on Lake Burera with views of nearby volcanoes and lush hills. By evening, you’ll check in at your hotel and relax.

Accommodation: La Palme Hotel

Wake up early and leave your hotel by 5:00 AM with a packed breakfast. At Volcanoes National Park, you’ll receive a briefing at 7:00 AM before beginning the gorilla trek at 8:00 AM. The trek can take 2–6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located. Once found, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour watching them in their natural habitat. Afterward, enjoy lunch and drive back to Kigali by evening.

Accommodation: Hotel Des Mille Collines

Depart Kigali at 5:30 AM for a 2.5–3 hour drive to Akagera National Park. You’ll go on a morning game drive to look for wildlife like giraffes, elephants, zebras, and lions. End the day with a short game drive before checking in to your lodge.

Accommodation: Mantis Akagera Game Lodge

After breakfast, begin the drive back to Kigali. On the way, you’ll stop at the Imigongo Art Center to explore local crafts and Rwandan art—great for picking up souvenirs. The tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport.
