Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara – Into the Wild
Your Affordable Safari Package begins early in the morning as you depart Nairobi in a shared Land Cruiser. The journey takes you through the Great Rift Valley, with a stop at a scenic viewpoint where you can gaze at the vast valley floor and volcanic escarpments.
By early afternoon, you’ll arrive at Lenchada Tourist Camp, where lunch awaits. After some rest, head out on your first afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara. The reserve comes alive at this time of day — elephants moving in family groups, herds of zebras clustered in geometric patterns, and prides of lions lounging in the shade. If luck is on your side, you might even spot a leopard stalking through the grass.
As the sun sets, return to camp for dinner and overnight. The night is filled with the sounds of the savannah: distant lion roars, chirping crickets, and the crackle of the campfire.
