Details Itinerary

Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi and drive through the agricultural highlands of central Kenya toward Naromoru. The journey takes about 3–4 hours.

Arrive at your lodge on the western slopes of Mount Kenya in time for lunch. The area offers a cool climate and beautiful surroundings.

Spend the afternoon resting and acclimatizing at an altitude of about 2,000m. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

After breakfast, drive through farms and forest to the starting point at Gathiuru. Enjoy a picnic lunch before beginning your trek.

Start a gradual hike through dense forest and bamboo vegetation. The trail is quiet and less traveled, offering a true wilderness feel.

After 4–5 hours of trekking, arrive at Giant Bamboo Camp (2,600m). Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

After breakfast, continue trekking as the bamboo forest gives way to taller trees such as podocarpus and cedar. The scenery becomes more open as you gain altitude.

Climb toward the moorland zone, passing unique vegetation like giant lobelias and groundsels. Stop for lunch along the way.

Arrive near the dramatic cliffs of Highland Castle (3,700m). Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

After breakfast, continue your ascent through wide moorlands. The landscape becomes more rugged as you approach the higher elevations.

Join the summit circuit path in the alpine region, with clear views of the surrounding peaks. The hike is steady but rewarding.
