Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Your Mount Kilimanjaro journey begins with a drive from Arusha to Machame Gate, followed by registration and preparation for the trek. The trail starts through dense rainforest, offering a cool and shaded environment with rich vegetation and occasional wildlife sightings.
The path gradually ascends along a ridge, where the terrain can be muddy and requires careful footing. As you gain elevation, the forest begins to thin, providing glimpses of the surrounding landscape.
Arrive at Machame Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Continue your Mount Kilimanjaro climb as you leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone. The trail becomes steeper and more rugged, offering expansive views of the valleys below and peaks above.
Cross ridges and valleys before reaching the Shira Plateau, one of the most scenic sections of the route. The open landscape allows for panoramic views and a clearer perspective of the mountain.
Arrive at Shira Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
This day is essential for acclimatization as you ascend to higher altitude before descending again. The trail leads towards Lava Tower, a striking volcanic formation that marks the highest point of the day.
The terrain becomes more barren and rocky, highlighting the dramatic change in environment as altitude increases. After reaching Lava Tower, descend to Barranco Camp, allowing your body to adjust effectively.
Arrive at Barranco Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Begin the day with the climb up the Barranco Wall, one of the most exciting sections of the route. The ascent is steep but manageable, rewarding you with incredible views once at the top.
Continue through valleys and ridges towards Karanga Camp, following a shorter trekking day designed to conserve energy before the summit push. The alpine desert environment becomes more pronounced.
Arrive at Karanga Camp for rest, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
This short but important trek leads you to Barafu Camp, the base for your summit attempt. The trail offers views of the summit from different angles as you complete the southern circuit of the mountain.
The terrain is rocky and exposed, emphasizing the high-altitude environment. Upon arrival, you will rest and prepare for the midnight ascent.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
The summit attempt begins around midnight as you ascend under the stars towards Uhuru Peak. This is the most demanding part of the climb, requiring determination and steady pacing through steep scree.
Reach Stella Point at the crater rim before continuing to the summit, where you will witness sunrise and stand at the highest point in Africa. This achievement marks the highlight of the entire journey.
After celebrating, descend to Barafu Camp briefly, then continue down to Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
On the final day, descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where the journey comes to an end. The trail is easier but can be muddy, requiring careful footing as you move through the lush environment.
Upon arrival, you will receive your summit certificate, marking your successful climb. This moment reflects the effort and determination invested throughout the trek.
Transfer back to Arusha for rest and onward travel.
