Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Relax at the Hotel
Once you land at Kigali International Airport, your Traford Safaris guide will meet you and take you to your hotel. Use the rest of the day to relax and settle in after your journey.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Travel to Akagera – Boat Cruise & Evening Game Drive
After breakfast, you’ll go on a city tour including the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Then, you’ll drive to Akagera National Park, check into your lodge, and have lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Ihema to see hippos and crocodiles. In the evening, go on a game drive to spot animals like elephants, lions, zebras, buffalo, and more.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive – Return to Kigali
Wake up early for a morning game drive in Akagera to spot more wildlife. Later, begin your journey back to Kigali, stopping for lunch along the way. You’ll arrive in Kigali in the afternoon or early evening.

Day 4: Travel to Volcanoes National Park – Visit Dian Fossey Center – Cultural Experience
After breakfast, drive north to Volcanoes National Park. On the way, you’ll visit the Dian Fossey Center in Musanze. Later in the day, enjoy a visit to the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village to learn about Rwandan traditions and dance.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking – Transfer to Lake Kivu – Evening Boat Cruise
Today starts with golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park. After lunch, drive to Lake Kivu, a scenic lake on the border of Rwanda and DR Congo. In the evening, relax on a peaceful boat cruise.

Day 6: Optional Lake Activity – Transfer to Nyungwe – Canopy Walk
In the morning, choose between kayaking or a boat ride on Lake Kivu. Then, drive to Nyungwe National Park (about 2.5 hours). After lunch, go on a thrilling canopy walk suspended above the forest. It’s a great way to spot monkeys and birds from above the treetops.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking – Drive to Kigali – Departure
Start the day early with chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest. After the trek, enjoy lunch and then drive back to Kigali. You’ll be dropped off at the airport for your flight home, ending your Rwanda adventure.
