Day 1: Maun to Xakanaxa (Moremi Game Reserve)
Upon arrival at Maun Airport, you’ll be met by your professional guide who will transfer you to Xakanaxa, deep inside the Moremi Game Reserve. Once at camp, settle in and head out on your first afternoon game drive, exploring the area’s wildlife-rich environment. The day ends with sundowner drinks in the bush as you soak in the beauty of the African sunset. You’ll spend the first of three nights at Boga Campsites.
Day 2–3: Exploring Moremi Game Reserve
Over the next two days, you’ll enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives in Moremi, with a relaxing siesta and lunch at camp in between. This area is known for its diverse ecosystems and incredible wildlife, including big cats, elephants, and a variety of bird species. An optional boat excursion along the Moanachira Channel is available – a peaceful waterway forming part of the Okavango Delta. Both nights are spent at Boga Campsites, offering a comfortable bush experience.
Day 4: Moremi to Khwai Concession
Today, you’ll travel from Moremi to the Khwai Concession. After a morning game drive and a packed lunch on the way, the team will set up your new camp ahead of your arrival. The Khwai area, situated along the northern boundary of Moremi and on the edge of the Okavango Delta, is known for its rich wildlife including frequent sightings of lions, leopards, and various bird species. Tonight’s camp is also at Boga Campsites.
.Day 5–6: Wildlife & Waterways in Khwai Concession
Spend the next two days exploring the pristine Khwai region. Mornings begin early with game drives to search for predators and plains game, and afternoons are reserved for mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions through the quiet floodplains of the Delta. These tranquil trips offer a unique perspective of the region’s aquatic ecosystems and birdlife. You’ll return to Hippo Pool Campsite for both nights.
Day 7: Khwai to Kaziikini Community Campsite
After breakfast, the safari continues as you drive to Kaziikini – a community-run campsite that offers an authentic Botswana wilderness experience. You’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive, and if the skies are clear, you may end the day with some stargazing under the African night sky. Accommodation is at Kaziikini Campsite, run by the local Sankuyo community.
Day 8: Kaziikini to Maun – Departure
Your final day begins with a short game drive in the area surrounding Kaziikini. After breakfast, you’ll be transferred back to Maun, where your guide will drop you off at your accommodation or the airport for your onward travel.
