Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park
Your Kenya Safari Package adventure begins in Nairobi. After a warm welcome from your guide at the airport or your hotel, you’ll depart on a five-hour scenic drive toward Tsavo East National Park, Kenya’s oldest and largest park. Along the way, the landscape transforms from bustling highways into wide-open savannahs dotted with acacia trees.
By midday, arrive at Ashnil Aruba Lodge, located near the Aruba Dam, a favorite watering hole for wildlife. After lunch and some time to refresh, head out for your first game drive in Tsavo East. The park is famous for its red elephants, whose skin takes on a reddish hue from rolling in the park’s iron-rich soil. In addition, you’ll encounter herds of buffalo, giraffes stretching their long necks to feed, and predators like lions lurking in the tall grass.
As the sun sets in a fiery glow across the horizon, return to the lodge for dinner. Fall asleep to the sounds of the wilderness under a starry African sky.
