Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Your safari starts with a meet-and-greet in Nairobi, followed by a short domestic flight to Samburu National Reserve. After check-in at Samburu Simba Lodge and lunch, enjoy your first game drive through the arid landscapes famous for unique wildlife species. In the evening, return for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Full Day in Samburu
After breakfast, head out for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. Samburu is home to the rare “Samburu Five”: Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. You’ll also spot elephants, lions, leopards, and many birds. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Samburu to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Check-in at Maisha Sweetwaters Camp and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, go on a game drive to see black and white rhinos, elephants, predators, and visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Return for dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 4: Ol Pejeta to Aberdare National Park
Depart for Aberdare National Park after breakfast, a scenic drive of about four hours. After lunch at The Ark, enjoy an afternoon game drive through bamboo forests and moorlands. Look for bongos, elephants, leopards, and the rare blue turaco. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Aberdare to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, travel to Lake Nakuru. Upon arrival, check in at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, have lunch, and then head out for a game drive. The park is famous for flamingoes, rhinos, and a variety of wildlife including lions, giraffes, baboons, and hippos. Return for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve
Leave Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive to the Masai Mara. Arrive in time for lunch at Enkorok Mara Camp. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in this world-famous reserve, known for its dense wildlife and scenic savannahs. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Days 7 & 8: Full Days in Masai Mara
Spend two full days exploring the Masai Mara with packed lunches. Look for the Big Five, cheetahs, wildebeest, zebras, and more. If traveling during the Great Migration season, you may witness dramatic river crossings. Return in the evenings for dinner, a bonfire, and rest at the camp.
Day 9: Masai Mara to Nairobi
After breakfast, you may opt to visit a traditional Masai village ($25 per person). Later, fly back to Nairobi. Upon arrival, enjoy a short sightseeing tour of the city before being dropped off at the international airport for your outbound flight.
