Treetops Aberdare

For a long time prior to booking my trip to Aberdare National Park, I had fascinating stories about Treetops Aberdare. People used to describe it as one of Kenya’s most historic safari lodges, a place where wildlife visits flood the waterhole while guests are quietly watching from elevated decks. I wondered to myself if it would be as unique as everyone claimed.

After spending a few days there, I completely understood why Tretops has earned such a remarkable reputation. As opposed to other safari lodges where wildlife encounters happen during game drives, this experience felt entirely different. In this place I did not have to leave the lodge to enjoy nature. In most times all I had to do is find a comfortable seat and gaze across the waterhole and wait for the wilderness to come to me. Well, if you are looking to get a true review of the Treetops Aberdare review then this was my expreience staying at Kenya’s most iconic safari lodges.

Enjoying A Different Safari Experience

Among the first things that caught my attention was the lodge itself. Built aboev the forest floor, Treetops offers a perspective that I had not experience before anywhere else. Instead of looking across the open plains I was focused on the dense wodlands and waterhole that attracted wildlife throughout the day. When I walked into my room I noticed how peaceful everything felt. It was comfortable, cosy and perfectly suited to its surroundings without trying to compete with nature itself. Rather than closing the curtains after unpacking I left them open so that I could enjoy watching what was happening outside the forest. Every once in a while an animal would emerge quietlt from the treesmaking every glance outside feel worthwhile. That connection with nature remained constant throughout my stay.

Experiencing Wildlife

Most safaris usually involve long hours of driving through national parks searching for animals however, Treetops offered somehting very different. One afternoon while relaxing on the viewing deck with a cup of coffee, I watched elephants slowly approach the waterhole. They drank peacefully before disappearing into the forest as they had arrived. Later that evening, buffalo wandered intoview followed by several bushbucks and warthogs. After darkness fell, the floodlights illuminated the waterhole allowing guests to continue enjoying thmselves regardless of the time. Each time brought more surprises as i did not know which animal would appear next. I found myself retrning to the viewing deck again and again throughout the day. Even without joining a game drive there was still something to do for every visitor in the lodge.

Hospitality That Made Me Fe At Home

Even though animals felt like the main form of attraction at the lodge, the experience would have not felt much better without the wonderful team at Treetops Aberdare. From the warm welcome reception to the attentive services during meals, every interaction felt genuine and relaxed. Thes staff were always happy to answer questions regarding the lodge’s history, the wildlife visiting the waterhole and whole Aberdare ecosystem. The meals also becaome another amazing part of the stay at the lodge. Breakfast overlooking the forest felt like the perfect way to begin each daywhile dinner was even more memorable because everyone was quietly hoping that another animal would appear outside duirng the evening. We used to have asual conversations about the latest wildlife sightings and was fascinating knowing that everyone has seen something completely different from the other.

Final Thoughts

Taking a reflecting of what I had experienced I could confidently say that Treetops Aberdare offereed one of the most distinctive safari expeiences I hav ever had in Kenya. Instead of relying solely on game drives. the lodge allows nature to unfold naturally around you, creating the perfect opportunities for you to enjoy wildlife at the comfort of your room, the viewing deck and dining area. Its unique location, rich history, welcoming hospitality, comfortable accommodation and cnstnt wildlife sighting all combined created an experience thats unlike anyother place I’ve visited. Whether you are a first time visitor or a seasoned visitor Aberdare National Park will always leave you with unforgeatbale memmories. This is the place for yoyu to be if you are a lover of nature and you always like to be in places that are peaceful. I believe that Treetops Aberdare deservs to be on th top of your travel list. As I checked out in the morning I realized I did not just leave with th memories of elephants and bufallo gathering at the waterhole. I caanot forget the beautiful quiet mornings above the forest, relaxing evenings that I spent watching wildlife beneath the stars completely immersed in one of Kenya’s beautiful landscapes.

For me Treetops Aberdare wasnt just like anyother safari lodge it was an unforgettable experience in my journey through Kenya’s remarkable wilderness.
