Later that afternoon, our experienced gyuide located a pride of lions resting beneath the scattered acacia trees giving us plenty of time to observe them quietly.
The experience even became more special when I visited the chimpanzee sanctuary which is something very unique about Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Watching rescued chimpanzees living in a protected environment was inspiring and motivating. I also had the very special opportunity to see the endangered black rhinos and learn more about the conservation programs and efforts mean to protect these special species. Beyonfd the famous wildlife I was equally impressed by the captivating scenery. Rolling plain, distant views of Mount Kenya, scattered acacia trees and the endless open scattered skies that created a breathtaking scenery whenever I travelled.
Genuine Hospitality
Although the wildlife exceeded my expectations, it was truly the people that made my experience complete. Every memeber of staff that I met was professional, friendly and genuinely passionate about ensuring that guests enjoyed their stay. Whether serving meals, sharing information about the conservancy or simply just asking about the day’s safari every interaction felt warm and authentic.
Breakfast was perfectly prepared preping me for an early moning game drive at the same time dinner was becoming a part of me as it was the perfect time for rme to relax after an entire day in the wilderness. I specifically liked staying near the restaurants as it was at this position where I had the best view of the waterhole. During this time any animals would appear around the waterhole which made it a perfect spot for me to explore a variety of wildlife.

After spending a couple of days at Sweetwaters Serena Camp, i now understand why it is considered one of Kenya’s finest safari destinations. The combination of luxurious tented accommodations, outstanding wildlife viewing, exceptional hospitality and the remarkable conservation work taking place within Ol Pejeta Conservancy creates an experience that is much difficult to get anywhwere. Whether you are celebrating a special ocassion, travelling with family or celebrating as a couple this camp offers something truely authentic and memorable for everyone. Given a chance to return to Ol Pejeta there wount be any debate on where I would stay.
