5-Day Wildlife Expedition in Manyara and Serengeti

Highlights

A Family Tour to Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Park is a perfect short adventure that combines diverse ecosystems, iconic wildlife, and the breathtaking landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. This five-day safari brings you up close to elephants, lions, flamingos, and the Great Wildebeest Migration in the heart of Tanzania’s wilderness.

Details Itinerary

Your Family Tours begins as you land in Arusha, where your professional safari guide welcomes you and gives a short briefing. You will then transfer to Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most charming and compact reserves. On arrival, check into your lodge or tented camp, enjoy lunch, and rest after your journey. In the evening, savor a delicious dinner while your guide shares details of the adventure that lies ahead.

Overnight Stay: African Safari Lake Manyara

After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive through Lake Manyara National Park. Known for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, and vibrant baboon troops, the park offers an intimate wildlife experience. The alkaline lake often shimmers with flocks of flamingos, pelicans, and storks, making it a paradise for bird lovers. You’ll also see zebras, giraffes, and antelopes grazing along the wooded edges of the Rift Valley escarpment.

After lunch at your lodge, depart for Serengeti National Park. Entering Serengeti is an unforgettable moment: endless golden plains stretch to the horizon, dotted with acacia trees and herds of wildebeest and zebras. Begin your first Serengeti game drive as you head to your camp.

Overnight Stay: Tukaone Camps

Today is dedicated to exploring the Central Serengeti, also known as the Seronera Valley. This area is rich in year-round wildlife due to its permanent water sources. Your Family Tours brings you face-to-face with the “Big Cats” of Africa: lions lounging in the sun, leopards resting in tree branches, and cheetahs sprinting across the plains. Hyenas, giraffes, and massive herds of herbivores are also frequently sighted.

Lunch will be served at your camp before heading out again for an afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is a photographer’s paradise, offering sweeping vistas and close encounters with wildlife that make every moment unforgettable.

Overnight Stay: Tukaone Camps

On day four, your adventure continues with another thrilling Serengeti game drive. Depending on the season, you may track the Great Wildebeest Migration as it moves through the plains or head north to the Mara River for a chance to witness dramatic river crossings. This is the essence of a Family Tour—millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles on the move, shadowed by predators like lions, cheetahs, and crocodiles.

Spend another magical evening under the Serengeti skies, listening to the calls of the wild as night falls over the savannah.

Overnight Stay: Tukaone Camps

On your final day, rise early for a sunrise game drive. The early morning hours are perfect for spotting nocturnal animals returning to their dens and predators beginning their hunts. This is your last chance to capture the essence of the Serengeti before you depart. After breakfast, drive back to Arusha where your safari concludes, leaving you with lifelong memories of this extraordinary Family Tour.
