8 Days Kenya Bush & Beach Flying Safari

Your 8-day Kenya Bush and Beach Flying Safari begins with a scenic flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to the Legendary Masai Mara. By flying instead of driving, you save valuable time and begin your wildlife adventure almost immediately.

You will be picked up by a Ravina Tours representative from your hotel or residence to the airport. After checking in, board your scheduled domestic flight to the Masai Mara. The flight offers a wonderful aerial perspective of Kenya, with the urban landscape giving way to the rolling countryside and vast savannahs.

Upon landing at the Mara airstrip near Naibosho Conservancy, you will be met by your professional safari guide and transferred into your safari vehicle.

As you make your way towards your lodge, keep your camera ready. Your first wildlife sightings can happen even before the drive begins.

Arrive at your selected safari lodge or tented camp, check in, and enjoy lunch. Take some time to settle into your accommodation and appreciate the surrounding wilderness before your afternoon adventure.

Later in the afternoon, head into the reserve for your first game drive. Explore the open savannah in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs, and other wildlife species.

Because this is a flying safari, you have more time to enjoy the Mara than spending the day traveling by road.

Day 2 is dedicated entirely to exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve, giving you a full day to experience its remarkable wildlife and sweeping savannah landscapes. With no major transfers, you can enjoy the Mara at a relaxed pace and maximize your time in the wilderness.

Start your day early with breakfast before heading into the reserve. The cooler morning hours are ideal for wildlife viewing, as many animals are active before the temperatures rise.

As the day goes by, continue across different sections of the Mara, following wildlife activity and exploring the reserve’s diverse landscapes. Your guide may track predators or take you to areas where large herds of wildebeest and zebras are present, depending on the season. While watching cannot be guaranteed, spending a full day in the reserve gives you more opportunities to encounter different species and observe them at a relaxed pace.

At midday, enjoy a packed picnic lunch at a designated safe location during the game drive. Take a break, enjoy the scenery, and recharge before continuing your exploration.

After lunch, continue exploring the Mara. As temperatures begin to fall, wildlife can become active again, providing another excellent opportunity for game viewing.

End your game drive experience with a leisurely drive as the sun sets over the savannah. The golden light creates beautiful scenery and excellent photography opportunities.

Return to your safari lodge for dinner and relaxation. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and prepare for another exciting day of wildlife exploration the next day.

Day 3 gives you another full day in the Masai Mara, allowing you to explore beyond the areas you visited on Day 2 while adding an optional cultural experience. With no long-distance transfer, the day can be enjoyed at a relaxed pace and tailored around your wildlife interests.

Wake up early and head out in the Mara as the sun rises over the savannah. This is an excellent time to look for predators, elephants, and large herbivores while temperatures are still cool.

For an unforgettable experience, you can replace the early morning game drive with an optional hot-air balloon safari. Float above the Mara as the sun rises, taking in panoramic views of the savannah below. The flight is followed by a bush breakfast before you rejoin your safari activities.

At midday, return to your lodge for lunch and some time to relax and enjoy the lodge’s amenities.

Later in the afternoon, you will head back into the Mara for another extended game drive and explore different habitats and follow wildlife activity as the afternoon cools.

Later in the day, you can visit a local Masai community. Learn about traditional culture, daily life, beadwork, music, and the community’s relationship with the surrounding environment.

End the afternoon with an optional Mara sundowner. Relax at a suitable location while watching the sun set across the vast grasslands.

Day 4 marks the transition from the wild landscapes of the Masai Mara to the tropical Kenyan coast. You will take a scenic flight towards Watamu, where the second half of your bush-and-beach adventure begins.

Wake up early for your final game drive in the Masai Mara. This is your last opportunity to explore the reserve and search for wildlife before leaving the bush.

You will return to your lodge or camp for breakfast. Take some time to enjoy your final moments in the Mara before checking out. You will pack your belongings and prepare for your transfer to the airstrip.

Your safari guide will drive you to the appropriate Mara AIrstrip for your scheduled flight.

Depending on the flight schedule, there may be some flexibility to enjoy a short final game-drive experience along the way.

Board your domestic flight from the Mara towards the Kenyan coast. As you fly away from the savannah, you will experience a dramatic change in scenery, eventually arriving in the coastal region with its tropical landscapes and proximity to the indian ocean.

Upon arrial, you  will be met by your coastal transfer driver and taken to Watamu beach accommodation. You will check in, settle into your room and take some time to relax after the journey.

Depending on your arrival time and meal plan, enjoy lunch at your accommodation before spending the afternoon at leisure. Take a walk along the beach, relax beside the pool or simply enjoy your first view of the Indian Ocean.

The afternoon is intentionally relaxed after several days of safari.

Start your day with breakfast at your beach accommodation.  Take your time, enjoy the tropical surroundings before heading out for your morning activity.

Set out for a Watamu marine experience, with activities selected according to your interests and sea conditions.

• Dolphin-watching experiences where available

You will enjoy a relaxed final morning in Watamu before taking your flight back to Nairobi.

Check out of your accommodation and meet your driver for the transfer to the appropriate airport or airstrip.

Your transfer will be coordinated with your scheduled flight, allowing sufficient time for check-in and onboarding.

Board your flight from the coast to Nairobi. Sit back and enjoy one final aerial view of Kenya’s changing landscapes as you travel from the Indian Ocean towards the capital.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, your safari officially concludes.
