Early morning, at 5:00 AM, your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali. With packed breakfast, you’ll begin the scenic 2-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, winding through Rwanda’s iconic “thousand hills.”

Arrive at the park headquarters by 7:00 AM for registration and a safety briefing. You’ll be assigned a ranger and porter before beginning your trek up Mount Bisoke.

The hike takes you through lush rainforest, home to various species of monkeys including black-and-white colobus and silver monkeys. Upon reaching the summit (3,711 meters), enjoy stunning views of the crater lake and surrounding peaks of the Virunga range.

After spending time at the summit, you’ll descend the volcano, have lunch, and then be transferred back to Kigali for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
