Day 1

Nairobi Arrival

Your 8-day Bush & Beach Safari begins with your arrival in Nairobi, Kenya’s vibrant capital city. This day is intentionally relaxed, allowing you to settle in, recover from your journey, and prepare for the safari ahead.

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your safari representative and transferred to your selected Nairobi hotel. If you arrive early, you can spend the day resting or exploring Nairobi at your own pace, depending on your arrival time.

In the evening, enjoy a safari briefing with your guide. Go through the Kenya safari itinerary, travel arrangements, and what to expect during the upcoming journey to Amboseli National Park, Tsavo East, and Diani Beach.

Enjoy dinner at your hotel and have a good night’s rest before beginning your safari the following morning.

Day 2

Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Day 2 is the official start of your Kenya Bush & Beach Safari.

After breakfast at your Nairobi hotel, meet your safari guide and begin the journey towards Amboseli National Park.

Leave Nairobi behind and travel through the Kenyan countryside, passing rural settlements, farms and open landscapes. As you approach Amboseli, the scenery comes drier and more open with views of the spectacular mountain landscape.

Arrive in the Amboseli area around midday and proceed to your selected accommodation, enjoy lunch and take sometime to settle in before heading out for your afternoon safari.

In the afternoon, enter Amboseli National Park for your first game drive. Explore the park’s open plains and wetlands while searching for its famous elephant herds and other wildlife.

As the afternoon cools, continue with the game drive before leaving the park and returning to your accommodation.

Enjoy dinner and relax for the evening, ready for a full-day Amboseli safari on Day 3.

: Enter Amboseli National Park for first wildlife experience.

Explore the open plains, woodland and wetland areas while searching for elephants, giraffes, Zebras, buffaloes, antelopes and other wildlife species.

Look for Amboseli’s famous elephant herds.

You may see elephants feeding, walking across the plains or gathering around water sources.

Your guide will explain their behaviour and the importance of Amboseli as and elephant habitat.

Day 3

Full-Day Amboseli National Park

Day 3 is dedicated to exploring Amboseli National Park in depth, giving you a full day to experience its wildlife, dramatic landscapes, and unique wetland ecosystem.

The day begins early to take advantage of the cooler morning temperatures and the best chances of enjoying a clear view of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After an early breakfast or with a packed breakfast, head into the park for a morning game drive. Explore the open plains and swampy areas where large elephant herds are often seen. Keep watch for lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and various antelope species.

Continue towards the park’s wetlands, where underground water from Mount Kilimanjaro creates permanent water sources even during drier periods. These areas attract wildlife and provide excellent birdwatching opportunities.

Around midday, enjoy lunch at your lodge or a suitable designated picnic location before taking some rest.

In the afternoon, return for another game drive and explore areas that were not covered in the morning. Spend time photographing elephants against the Kilimanjaro backdrop, watching wildlife around the wetlands, and observing Amboseli’s diverse birdlife.

As the day cools, enjoy a relaxed late-afternoon drive across the plains before returning to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

: Begin the safari as the sun rises over the Amboseli plains. Drive through the open savannah while watching for animals beginning their morning movements. The soft morning light creates excellent conditions for photography.
: Spend time observing Amboseli’s famous elephant herds. You may see elephants feeding, walking across the plains, bathing, or gathering around water. Your guide will explain their behaviour and the importance of Amboseli’s ecosystem to these animals.
: On clear mornings, the mountain can appear dramatically behind the Amboseli plains, creating one of Kenya’s most recognizable safari scenes.

However, visibility depends on weather and cloud cover.
: Depending on the season, you may encounter various bird species. Also, your guide can help identify birds and explain their relationship with the wetland ecosystem.
: Depending on the day’s schedule, you can enjoy lunch at a designated and safe location in the park.

Day 4

Amboseli to Tsavo West National Park

Day 4 takes you from the dramatic landscapes of Amboseli National Park to the vast wilderness of Tsavo West National Park.

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before checking out. If time allows, begin the day with a short morning game drive in Amboseli. This provides one final opportunity to photograph elephants, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife before leaving the park.

Depart Amboseli and continue towards Tsavo West National Park. The journey takes you through the rural landscapes and changing vegetation, offering a glimpse of the communities and countryside between the two parks.

Arrive in the Tsavo West area and check into your selected accommodation, enjoy lunch, and take some time to rest.

Later in the afternoon, head out for your first game drive.

Explore the park’s expansive savannah and distinctive red soil landscapes. Keep an eye out for elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and other wildlife species.

Tsavo West is known for its striking scenery, including volcanic hills, rocky outcrops, lava formations, and expansive savannah, providing a completely different experience from the open plains of Amboseli.

After the game drive, return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Activities:

: Explore the vast wilderness in search of elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and various bird species.

Your guide will look for tracks, fresh activity, and areas where predators have recently been sighted. As with all wildlife encounters, sightings are not guaranteed.

Drive through the park’s different habitats, including open grasslands, bushland, and areas around seasonal water sources. The enormous scale of Tsavo West creates a strong sense of wilderness and offers a different experience from Amboseli.
: Depending on the day’s timing and park conditions, visit Mzima Springs, one of Tsavo West’s most famous attractions.

The crystal-clear springs are surrounded by lush vegetation and provide an important water source for wildlife. You may spot hippos, crocodiles, monkeys, and other aquatic species.

Do not forget to explore the underwater observation chamber at Mzima Springs, where conditions and visibility allow.

Day 5

Full-Day Tsavo West National Park Safari

Day 5 is dedicated entirely to exploring Tsavo West National Park, giving you more time to experience its diverse landscapes and wildlife before moving to Diani Beach on Day 6. This day combines early-morning game viewing, Shetani lava viewing, birdwatching, and an extended afternoon safari.

Begin the day early with breakfast before heading into Tsavo West for a sunrise game drive. The cool morning hours are ideal for wildlife viewing as animals are often more active before the heat of the day.

After lunch, resume your afternoon game drive and explore different areas of Tsavo West. Search for wildlife while enjoying the park’s dramatic scenery, including volcanic hills, lava formations, rocky outcrops, and expansive savannah.

After the afternoon drive, return to your accommodation in the evening, enjoy dinner, and relax.

: Head into the park as the sun rises. The cooler morning temperatures make this an excellent time to look for active wildlife. Search for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and predators moving through the savannah and woodland.
: Drive through Tsavo West’s dramatic scenery, including rocky hills, volcanic formations, lava flows, and open plains. These landscapes make Tsavo West distinct from Amboseli and offer excellent opportunities for scenic photography.
: Keep your binoculars ready around the springs and throughout the game drive. Tsavo West supports numerous bird species, and you may encounter kingfishers, herons, eagles, vultures, hornbills, and other species.

Day 6

Tsavo West to Diani Beach

Day 6 marks the transition from the Kenyan bush to the Kenyan coast.

After several days of wildlife adventures, this day takes you from the rugged landscapes of Tsavo West to the white sands and tropical atmosphere of Diani Beach.

Begin the morning with breakfast at your accommodation before checking out. Afterwards, begin the journey towards the Kenyan coast. As you travel, the landscape gradually changes from dry savannah and volcanic terrain to greener vegetation and tropical coastal surroundings.

Stop along the way for lunch and a chance to stretch your legs before continuing towards Diani.

Upon arrival, check into your selected Diani Beach hotel or resort. Take some time to settle into your room and enjoy the change of pace after the safari.

The rest of the afternoon is free for relaxation. Walk along the soft white sand, take a refreshing swim, relax beside the pool, or enjoy the views of the Indian Ocean.

As evening approaches, enjoy the coastal atmosphere and a beautiful sunset before having dinner at your accommodation.

Day 7

Full-Day Diani Beach Experience

Day 7 is dedicated entirely to enjoying Diani Beach and its coastal surroundings. After several days of safari and long drives, this day offers a slower pace, with a balance of ocean adventure and relaxation.

Begin the morning with breakfast at your beach resort before heading out for your chosen coastal experience. You can spend the morning on the Indian Ocean, with optional activities such as snorkelling, swimming, diving, or a boat excursion depending on your interests and sea conditions.

After the morning experience, enjoy lunch and some downtime. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach, swimming in the warm waters, or enjoying the facilities at your resort.

Later in the afternoon, take a leisurely beach walk and enjoy the coastal scenery. You can also arrange an optional activity or simply unwind as the sun begins to set.

End the day with dinner at your accommodation and a peaceful evening by the coast.

: Take an early morning walk along Diani’s white sandy beach. The cooler morning temperatures make this a pleasant time to explore the shoreline, enjoy the ocean views, and take photographs.
: Head out for a marine experience on the Indian Ocean. Depending on your selected activity, you may travel by boat to explore the waters around Diani.

The excursion offers a different perspective of the coastline and opportunities to enjoy the clear tropical waters.
: For travelers interested in marine life, snorkeling provides an opportunity to explore the shallow waters and observe colourful fish, coral formations, and other marine life.
: During a boat or snorkeling excursion, keep watch for marine creatures such as reef fish, sea turtles, and other coastal species where present.

Stretch out on the sand, read a book, and enjoy the shade of the palm trees. After the active safari days, this is your opportunity to properly unwind.

Day 8

Diani to Nairobi ( Departure)

Day 8 marks the end of your 8-day Kenya Bush & Beach Safari. After experiencing the wildlife of Amboseli and Tsavo West, you will have a relaxed final morning in Diani before beginning your onward journey.

Wake up to the peaceful sounds of the Indian Ocean and enjoy your final breakfast at the beach resort. If your departure schedule allows, spend some time enjoying the beach, taking a final morning swim, or simply relaxing at the resort.

Return to the hotel, freshen up, and complete check-out at the scheduled time.

Depending on your onward arrangements, you will then be transferred to Ukunda Airport for your flight back to Nairobi.
