Day 1

Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Begin your Kenya Safari Deals adventure with an early morning departure from Nairobi, heading north toward the dramatic landscapes of northern Kenya. The drive takes you through the scenic central highlands, where green tea and coffee plantations create a beautiful contrast to the drier landscapes ahead. Along the way, enjoy views of rural communities, farmland, and changing scenery as you gradually approach Samburu.

Continue toward Samburu National Reserve, arriving around midday. After reaching your safari lodge, check in and enjoy lunch before taking some time to relax and prepare for your first wildlife experience. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive through Samburu’s distinctive semi-arid terrain.

Samburu offers a different safari experience from the southern Kenyan parks, with rugged hills, open plains, dry riverbeds, and the Ewaso Nyiro River providing an important source of water for wildlife. During your drive, keep watch for elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, and buffaloes. The reserve is also particularly associated with several northern Kenyan species, including Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, and reticulated giraffe.

As the afternoon progresses, continue exploring the reserve while enjoying the changing light across the landscape. Later, return to Samburu Sopa Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, ending your first day surrounded by the atmosphere of northern Kenya.

Day 2

Full-Day Exploration of Samburu

Spend the second day of your Kenya Safari Deals itinerary exploring the remarkable wilderness of Samburu National Reserve. With a full day dedicated to the reserve, you have more time to experience its wildlife, landscapes, and distinctive northern Kenya environment.

Begin with a morning game drive when wildlife is often active across the reserve. Travel through different sections of Samburu in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and other animals. The reserve’s varied terrain provides excellent opportunities for photography and wildlife observation, while the presence of the Ewaso Nyiro River attracts animals to its surrounding areas.

Return to the lodge after the morning activity for some time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. You may take advantage of the peaceful atmosphere at Samburu Sopa Lodge before continuing with another game drive later in the afternoon.

The afternoon drive provides another opportunity to explore the reserve as the temperatures become more comfortable. Your driver-guide will help you identify wildlife and navigate areas where animals may be found. Keep your camera ready for unexpected sightings, particularly around riverine habitats and open plains.

After the afternoon exploration, return to the lodge for dinner. Spend the evening relaxing and reflecting on the day’s encounters before settling in for another night in Samburu. This full day allows you to appreciate the reserve at a relaxed pace rather than simply passing through it.

Day 3

Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, leave Samburu National Reserve and begin the journey south toward Lake Nakuru National Park. The day’s drive takes you through changing Kenyan landscapes as you move from the dry northern region toward the Great Rift Valley.

Continue along the route with opportunities to appreciate the countryside and dramatic escarpments of the Rift Valley. Upon reaching the Lake Nakuru area, proceed to your lodge and enjoy lunch before preparing for the afternoon wildlife experience.

Later, enter Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive around the scenic lake and its surrounding habitats. The park is well known for its rhino population, birdlife, and beautiful landscapes consisting of woodland, open areas, and the alkaline lake itself. During the drive, look out for giraffes, white and black rhinos, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, and other wildlife.

The park also provides opportunities to observe different bird species around the lake and wetlands. Depending on conditions, flamingos may add color to the lakeshore, creating a memorable photographic setting. Your guide will assist with wildlife spotting while explaining the different habitats encountered during the drive.

As the afternoon comes to an end, leave the park and return to Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge. Enjoy dinner and relax at the lodge after a day of travel and wildlife exploration. The overnight stay provides a comfortable base before continuing to the famous Masai Mara the following morning.

Day 4

Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve

Leave Lake Nakuru after breakfast and continue your Kenya Safari Deals journey toward the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The route takes you through the scenic Rift Valley countryside and toward the extensive grasslands for which the Mara is internationally recognized.

Upon arrival, proceed to Masai Mara Sopa Lodge, where you will check in and enjoy lunch. After taking some time to settle in, prepare for your first game drive in the Mara.

In the afternoon, head into the reserve for an exciting introduction to its expansive savanna ecosystem. The Mara is home to large populations of wildlife, giving you opportunities to search for lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and other animals. The open grasslands make it possible to observe wildlife across broad areas, while seasonal conditions can influence where animals are concentrated.

The reserve forms part of the wider Serengeti-Mara ecosystem and is especially well known for large herds of wildebeest and zebras during migration periods. Although wildlife sightings depend on natural conditions, the diversity of species makes every game drive an opportunity for new discoveries.

As the afternoon progresses, enjoy the changing scenery and warm evening light across the Mara plains. Eventually, leave the reserve and return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation. Spend the night at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge, preparing for a full day of wildlife exploration tomorrow.

Day 5

Full-Day Game Drives in Masai Mara

Dedicate the fifth day of your Kenya Safari Deals package entirely to exploring Masai Mara National Reserve. With a full day available, you can experience the reserve through morning and afternoon game drives without having to make a long transfer between destinations.

Start with a morning game drive across the Mara’s open grasslands. Early hours can provide opportunities to see wildlife before the heat of the day, including lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests. Continue through different areas of the reserve while enjoying the changing scenery and observing animals in their natural environment.

Return to Masai Mara Sopa Lodge for a break before heading out again later in the afternoon. During the second drive, continue searching for wildlife and explore areas that may offer different sightings from the morning.

If your visit coincides with the wildebeest migration season, the Mara can provide opportunities to witness large herds moving through the ecosystem. The dramatic river crossings are seasonal and cannot be guaranteed, but the migration period can bring significant concentrations of wildebeest and zebras to the region.

For travelers seeking an additional experience, a hot-air balloon safari may be available as an optional activity at dawn. From above, the Mara landscape offers a completely different perspective.

After your final game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening. Enjoy your last night in the Mara before continuing toward Lake Naivasha.

Day 6

Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, depart from Masai Mara National Reserve and travel toward the scenic Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. The journey takes you away from the Mara’s extensive savanna and toward a freshwater lake surrounded by attractive landscapes and wildlife habitats.

Arrive at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort around lunchtime and settle in before enjoying your meal. The afternoon is dedicated to experiencing the lake and its surroundings rather than a traditional vehicle-based game drive.

Begin with a boat safari on Lake Naivasha. Cruise across the freshwater lake while looking for hippos in the water and a variety of bird species around the shoreline. The boat experience offers a slower and more peaceful way to observe the area’s wildlife.

Depending on your preference and availability, continue with an optional nature walk at Crescent Island. The island provides opportunities to encounter wildlife at closer range, including giraffes and antelopes. Walking in this environment offers a different perspective from the vehicle-based game drives experienced earlier in the safari.

After completing your afternoon activities, return to the lakeside resort and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The evening provides an opportunity to relax after several days of game drives and road travel.

Spend the night at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort, surrounded by the tranquil atmosphere of Lake Naivasha. The destination provides a pleasant transition before the journey continues toward Amboseli National Park.

Continue toward Amboseli and arrive at Amboseli Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. After checking in and taking a short break, prepare for your afternoon game drive.

Enter Amboseli National Park and begin exploring its distinctive ecosystem. The park is renowned for its elephants, while its open plains provide opportunities to see giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and other wildlife. On clear days, the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro creates an impressive backdrop to the landscape.

The combination of wildlife and mountain scenery makes Amboseli particularly attractive for photographers. Your driver-guide will take you through areas where wildlife may be encountered while helping you appreciate the park’s different habitats.

As the afternoon continues, watch the changing light across the plains and keep an eye out for elephants moving through the park. Wildlife activity varies according to weather, season, and water availability, so each drive offers a different experience.

During the morning drive, explore selected areas of the park while keeping watch for elephants and other wildlife. The early hours provide another chance to experience the quiet atmosphere of Amboseli and, if weather conditions permit, enjoy views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After completing the final game drive, begin the journey toward Nairobi. Travel through the Kenyan countryside as you make your way back to the capital. Depending on your onward schedule, arrive in Nairobi during the afternoon.
